This is it.. the home stretch!
In these final 12 weeks of the program, one of the things a resident will be required to do is construct a written out "exit plan", laying out what their game plan is for after they graduate.

They also will be required to share their testimonies at some point in these final weeks before graduation as well.
We currently have 2 in Phase 4 with projected graduations in September and October.

HALFWAY THERE!!
In entering Phase 3, a resident is now been with us for 6 months and is halfway through the program!
The responsibilities of daily classes, phase work, Bibles studies continue along with the continuation of random drug testing.
Phase 3 is a huge milestone in the program. Not only is it the halfway mark, but this is where the women really start learning responsibility and slowly start getting a feel for productive, sober lives after the program.

A resident will move into an apartment in property,
​
Allowed to have a cell phone, under remote monitoring

​Transport themselves to and from work, church services, and classes.

Now go on 8 hour passes with approved persons

​2 on property weekends a month with their children

We currently have 1 resident in Phase 3.

During this 12 week phase, a resident will now

Begin working

​Taught how to, and placed on a financial budget after first full paycheck

​allowed 2 overnight visits a month with children on property

​be able to go on 4 hour pass with approved persons

All while continuing their weekly phase work, daily classes, and meetings, and church services.

They did it! They've made it through their blackout.

Upon entering Phase 1, they will get their first phone call to a loved one since entering the program.


Phase 1 is 12 weeks long, and a resident is required to continue with their phase work and volunteer hours, classes, and meetings each week.

In addition, they will continue with any ongoing appointments they require to obtain and ID, card, medical appointments, etc..

Along with the many responsibilities the resident will have, they also are allowed more freedoms:

A weekly 20 miniute phone call to a loved one

Send/receive letters (subject to inspection)

​On property visitation with family on Fridays
In their final 2 weeks of the phase, they will begin seeking and applying for employment, and will begin working when they enter Phase 2.

We currently have 1 resident who just advanced to Phase 1, and another joining her next week.

When a woman enters the program, their first 30 days they are in what we call Blackout.

No phone calls. No letters. No passed messages.
Not family. Not friends, not even their children.

No contact with the "outside" world beyond in person interactions through church, meetings, and of course the staff and other program residents.

This 30 day period of blackout is a vital part of the program. Making the decision to genuinely seek help, committing and coming a year long recovery program can be a lot to take in.

For a good number of them, they are coming to us straight from jail and usually from a longer stay.
Some from the streets, and straight from the environment of addiction.
In these 30 days the women are

Adjusting

Pocessing

Getting to stop and and take a breather

Getting settled in their new home for next year

Getting to mentally reset

And for many, starting to re-learn who they are outside of drugs/alcohol/toxic environments- Most of them for the first time in their adult lives, and for some, for the first times in their lives.

We currently have 3 brave women in blackout.

Help us in wishing Ms. Barb, or house mom, a very Happy Birthday!! Maranatha would not function the way it does without her and she loves all the ladies like they were her own.
