AOTA and a coalition of research advocates are urging Congress to protect disability and rehabilitation research funding at the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).

AOTA has asked Congress to continue to defend both NIH and NIDILRR funding through 2027, whose portfolio includes critical work on improving function, rehabilitation outcomes, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Learn more about this advocacy work: https://bit.ly/4uEzq0Q

We’ll be hosting a free CEU summit worth 6 live CEUs. The program will take a deeper dive into Vivistim and explore evidence-based upper extremity interventions for individuals recovering from stroke, focusing on enhancing your current therapy practice.

Call For Papers Deadline Extended to May 27, 2026!!

Dear Colleagues,

The Call for Papers submission deadline is extended for the 2026 GOTA Annual Conference, taking place October 9–11, 2026, in Athens, Georgia.

This year’s theme, Gathering, invites occupational therapy practitioners to come together with intention and purpose. It is a call to connect, collaborate, and cultivate a stronger sense of community within our profession. This gathering creates space to share ideas, exchange experiences, and spark new possibilities in practice.

We are seeking engaging, evidence-based, and solution-focused presentations that address the complex challenges of everyday practice while strengthening our collective voice. Whether your expertise lies in clinical interventions, research, education, or policy, we encourage you to submit proposals that offer practical, hands-on applications to advance occupational therapy across diverse settings.

Empowering Parents through Occupational Therapy and Primary Care Partnerships: A Feasibility Study

Partnerships between occupational therapists and primary care providers may increase parents' accessibility to needed information to support their children’s development and promote occupational engagement. The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility and potential impact of occupational therapy-led parent education sessions in pediatric primary care.

Addressing Feeding and Eating Issues with the Pediatric Population Using a Telehealth Service Delivery Model: A Case Report

This case report reviews the implementation of telehealth-based occupational therapy interventions for pediatric feeding issues in a client with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). It highlights the use of a synchronous telehealth service delivery model to address sensory-based feeding issues.
