Before you climb toward Mount Kailash, Tibet there are a few things you need to understand about breathing at altitude
1. Keep your head warm.
Heat escapes fast at altitude, and a cold head pulls energy away from everything else your body is trying to do.
2. Breathe soft, not hard.
Short panicked breaths make altitude harder. Slow, gentle breaths, in through the nose when you can, help your body find its rhythm.
3. Drink warm water. A lot of it.
Not cold. Warm water supports circulation and helps your body process the thinner air more easily. 4. I don’t do medicine, so homeopathy worked great for me, except one day in which I took 3 sips of oxygen.
The mountain doesn’t ask you to be strong.
It asks you to slow down and listen. Mount Kailish pilgrimage - requires you to be flexible literally at any piont of the journey,
And when you do it with an amazing group of people from Telos and my favorite leaders, its even better!
