Dr. Keshma Saujani, an OB/GYN with Longstreet Clinic, has now performed more than 2,000 robotic surgeries. This is a remarkable achievement that represents thousands of patients cared for and countless lives touched.

Robotic surgery has become an important advancement in gynecologic care, offering women a minimally invasive approach to many surgical procedures. Reaching this milestone reflects Dr. Saujani's years of dedication to robotic surgery and women's health.

UPDATE (as of 1:45 pm) : Law enforcement has given its all clear and confirmed that all is safe at NGMC Gainesville, Longstreet Clinic and the surrounding area.

All hospital operations are back to normal and appointments can be attended as scheduled.

There is currently a heavy law enforcement presence at our hospital campus in Gainesville, as police investigate a bomb threat in the vicinity.

All appointments at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Longstreet Clinic’s Gainesville location today are cancelled until further notice.

Melissa Capps waited until she was 50 to pursue surgery because for a long time she felt like she should be able to do it on her own. What changed her perspective was simple: seeing surgery as a treatment and a tool, not a shortcut.

After her duodenal switch procedure with Dr. Velazquez on June 11, 2025, Melissa has lost 176 pounds from her highest weight of 486, going from a size 6X to a 2X. She flew without needing a seatbelt extender, went Christmas shopping in stores, and rode her favorite Disney rides.

"I was an observer in life, not getting to live it," she said. Now she is living it. Her only regret is not starting sooner.

Please help us welcome our newest physician, Bailey Brown, D.O.! Dr. Brown recently joined Longstreet Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology and is welcoming new patients in Gainesville. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her OBGYN residency at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. We are excited to have Dr. Brown join us as we strive to provide comprehensive gynecologic and obstetrical care to the community!

NGMC's Bariatric Weight Loss Center recently hosted its annual Patient Celebration Gala, bringing together more than 30 weight-loss surgery patients and care team members from NGHS and Longstreet Clinic.

From dancing and great food to casino games and fellowship, the evening was a celebration of the hard work, dedication and achievements of our patients as they continue their journeys toward better health.
