Recently, we had LOADS of fun at the Gwinnett Stripers baseball game! ⚾ Our residents enjoyed cheering on the team, soaking in the excitement, and making memories together. And to top it all off, we even made it onto the jumbotron!

🌟 July Resident Spotlight: Tom 🌟

When asked what he enjoys most about life at Smoky Springs, Tom’s answer was simple: “It’s very convenient to everything.”

We also asked Tom if he could share one piece of advice. Without hesitation, he said: “Stay on your feet... and WALK!” 🚶‍♂️

Tom has lived quite an adventurous life! An Eagle Scout through and through, he loves the outdoors, the mountains, and spending time in nature. He has camped in freezing temperatures, including -3°F weather, and even freehand climbed at Cloudland Canyon.

These days, you’ll often find Tom enjoying a game of Rummikub or tending to the community garden, where his love for the outdoors continues to shine.

Tom’s adventurous spirit, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humor make Smoky Springs a brighter place every day. We’re so grateful to have him as part of our community!

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Amy 🌟

This month, we’re excited to recognize Amy as our Employee Spotlight!

Amy has been a valued member of the Smoky Springs family for nearly two years. She began her journey as Concierge before stepping into her current role as Director of Activities, where she creates engaging programs, outings, special events, and meaningful experiences that bring joy and connection to residents each day.

Amy was chosen for this spotlight because of her positive attitude, genuine passion for serving residents, and the extra care she puts into making Smoky Springs feel like home.

A special fun fact about Amy: after working at Smoky Springs for about six months, she loved the community so much that she decided to move her own grandmother, “Mimi,” here. Now she has the joy of visiting her grandmother every day while doing the work she loves.

Amy shares, “The smallest acts of kindness often leave the biggest impact—and that’s what I hope to bring to Smoky Springs every day.”
