🧠 Community Spotlight: Dr. Ernesto Alonso
Dr. Kabeer believes exceptional patient care is built through collaboration. This month, we're proud to recognize Dr. Ernesto Alonso of the Neurology Center of North Florida for his continued partnership and dedication to serving patients throughout North Central Florida.
Dr. Alonso completed his medical training in Cuba before pursuing advanced residency training in neurology at the University of Kansas, followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology. Since 2018, he has provided compassionate, patient-centered neurological care, combining extensive expertise with a commitment to helping patients better understand and manage their neurological conditions.
For many of our patients experiencing numbness, tingling, weakness, pain, or suspected nerve compression, Dr. Kabeer frequently refers them to Dr. Alonso for electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS). These specialized diagnostic tests play a critical role in evaluating conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, cervical radiculopathy, and other peripheral nerve disorders. The information gathered helps accurately identify the source of symptoms, determine the severity of nerve involvement, and guide the most appropriate treatment plan—whether that involves conservative management or surgical intervention.
This month's educational series highlights the important role of EMG and nerve conduction studies, explains the differences between common nerve compression syndromes, and showcases the collaborative approach we take to ensure every patient receives the highest quality care.
Thank you, Dr. Ernesto Alonso, for your professionalism, expertise, and ongoing partnership. We appreciate your continued service to our patients and the North Central Florida community.
