We provide 2 locations for our Residential (3.5 ASAM) Galax Campus is all male, and Bassett Campus is all female. We also offer (Partial Hospitalization 2.5 ASAM), and (Low-Intensity Residential 3.1 in tandem with 2.5) treatments, providing the necessary flexibility to accommodate our clients’ lifestyles and needs. Our approach to addiction treatment involves integrating traditional and alternative therapies to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of recovery. Last week, Peer Engagement Specialist Crystal Songer, staff, and clients were celebrating more than just a fun day on the river. As many of you know, our country recognized 250 years of history. History reminds us that freedom has always come with challenges, sacrifices, and perseverance- Recovery is much the same.

Last week’s float is a reminder that recovery isn't only about therapy groups, meetings, or treatment. Recovery is also about learning how to enjoy life again without substances. It's about laughing, connecting with others, appreciating nature, practicing self-care, and making positive memories.

As we floated down the river, we thought about this: rivers keep moving forward. They may hit rocks, take unexpected turns, or move through rough water, but they never stop flowing. Our recovery journey is the same. We may face obstacles, but we keep moving forward.

We challenged each of our clients to let go of something they had been carrying whether it was guilt, shame, anger, fear, or resentment and allow this experience to remind them that healing is possible.

Last week, Sobrius had the honor of hosting Central Virginia Addiction & Recovery Resources Coalition first annual Recovery Summer Kickoff event and it was an incredible success!

A heartfelt thank you to all our community partners who joined us to share valuable resources, education and hope with our community. Your presence and commitment made a meaningful impact.

A special thank you to Sobrius leadership team for believing in CVARR's vision and helping to bring it to light by providing a welcoming space where people felt comfortable to connect and support one another.

We are excited to continue strengthening the collaboration between Sobrius and CVARR and other organizations who share our commitment to recovery and creating healthier communities.

Recently Peer engagement Specialist Crystal Songer and Program Manager Tiffany Moran hosted a "Mad Hatter" Tea party for the clients at our Bassett Campus and the women in our Galax PHP. The event featured lively flavored lemonades and teas as well as all of the accoutrements that you would expect to see at classy Tea Party!

Tiffany is quoted as saying:

"What stood out most about today is the deeper purpose behind it. Events like this highlight the powerful connection between mental health and substance use recovery. Many of the women we serve are carrying not only addiction, but also trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and other mental health challenges. When we create spaces rooted in connection, safety, and compassion, we are supporting the whole person not just the addiction. Recovery is mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Days like today matter because they remind every woman that she is not alone, and that healing is possible."

Staff too many to recognize in this format chipped in to make the event a huge success. Thank you for all of your dedication, especially on the hard days!!
