With a broken heart I am announcing that Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Galeton is closing, effective May 25, 2026. This has been difficult, but since Dana’s passing, it has become apparent that this is the right decision. I want to thank the Galeton community for the 19 years of support that was shown to Dana and to me. Dana’s dream was to own his own funeral home and to always put his families first. That dream became reality, and we were so happy serving Galeton.
I want to inform all those that have prearrangements with Hess Funeral Home that your files have been transferred to Kenyon Funeral Home in Westfield. I assure you that your arrangements will be honored as they are written. Krista Wells has been a Godsend to us. She began helping us when Dana got sick and has faithfully helped me through this year. She has come to love Galeton and is more than happy to meet families in Galeton and hold all services there as well. She has been a personal friend of Dana’s and mine since elementary school and we trust her to take care of our beloved Galeton. She owns her own crematory, so your loved ones will never leave her care. Her phone number is 814-258-7320. She will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your arrangements. She will also be sending out a letter introducing herself in the near future.
Again, thank you to the community for your outpouring of love and support for me since Dana’s passing. It has been a huge comfort and will never be forgotten.
