🗓 June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month 🗓
Society often teaches men to "tough it out" and hide their struggles. Because of this, burnout and depression in men don't always look like sadness. They often wear a mask. Here is what to look out for in yourself, your friends, your brothers, or your partner:
➡ Escapism: Spending excessive hours at work or turning heavily to sports, video games, or alcohol to "numb out."
➡ Irritability: Sudden outbursts of anger, a short fuse, or uncharacteristic hostility over minor inconveniences.
➡ Physical Pain: Unexplained headaches, chronic back pain, digestive issues, or constant exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix.
➡ Reckless Behavior: Taking unnecessary risks, driving aggressively, or showing a sudden disregard for safety.
➡ Social Withdrawal: Quietly dropping out of group chats, skipping routine hangouts, or isolating from loved ones.
If you recognize these signs, you don't have to fix it all today. Just start by talking to one person you trust.Let's break the silence. Check in on a man in your life today. 💙
