In 2021, I was honored to be recognized as one of South Jersey’s 30 Latino Leaders Under 40. Tonight, I had the privilege of celebrating alongside the incredible leaders who continue to make a difference in our communities.

This recognition is a reminder that hard work, service, and purpose never go unnoticed. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor because I wanted to use what I learned to give back, to support, empower, and help strengthen the community that helped shape me. Every sacrifice has been worth it.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me along this journey and to my community for this incredible honor.

Keep showing up. Keep serving. Keep believing. You never know who you’re inspiring.

Your gentle reminder: happiness isn’t about getting everything you want, it’s about enjoying everything you already have.

Some days, it’s important to pause and simply say... thank you. ❤️

To our clients who have trusted us with your stories, your healing, and your growth, thank you. It is a privilege that we never take for granted.

To our community, friends, family, and everyone who has supported, encouraged, shared our content, referred someone they care about, or simply believed in our mission, thank you. Your support has helped Therapeutic Self Care grow over the last five years in ways I could have only dreamed of.

As a business owner and a therapist, I know that none of this happens alone. Behind every milestone is a team that shows up with compassion, dedication, and heart every single day. I am incredibly grateful for each member of our team and the care they provide to the people we serve.

What means the most is knowing that together, we’re able to reach more people. Whether it’s through counseling or the mental health education we share here on social media, our hope has always been to make support feel more accessible. We have the privilege of walking alongside children, families, teachers, first responders, healthcare professionals, and so many others as they navigate life’s challenges and that is something I never take for granted.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for believing in our mission. Thank you for allowing us to continue showing up, serving our community, and reminding people that they don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone.

Here’s to continuing to grow, continuing to serve, and continuing to make mental health support more accessible together.

With gratitude,

When was the last time you truly took care of yourself? not just your to-do list? ✨

Today is International Self-Care Day, and it’s the perfect reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury, it’s part of maintaining your overall health and well-being.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that self-care has to be elaborate or expensive. The truth is, self-care often looks like the small choices we make every day to protect our peace, honor our needs, and support our mental health.

💚 Self-care might look like:
✨ Saying “no” without feeling guilty.
✨ Taking a 10-minute walk to clear your mind.
✨ Drinking enough water and nourishing your body.
✨ Turning off notifications for a while.
✨ Asking for help when you need it.
✨ Getting enough sleep.
✨ Speaking to yourself with compassion instead of criticism.

Here’s something I want you to remember:

You don’t have to wait until you’re burned out to take care of yourself. Self-care isn’t about escaping your life, it’s about creating a life that supports your well-being.

Today, I invite you to pause for a moment and ask yourself:

✨ What is one thing I need today and how can I honor that need?

Share your answer in the comments. You never know who you might inspire to prioritize their own well-being. 💚

Happy International Self-Care Day!

When someone you love experiences trauma or loss, it’s natural to want to help but knowing what to do isn’t always easy.

Here are 4 ways you can support a loved one after a difficult experience:

🤍 Give them access to a safe, trusted person they can talk to about what happened.

🤍 Allow time for them to process their emotions. If they’re very young, they may need extra support identifying and expressing what they’re feeling.

🤍 Offer reassurance and a calm, supportive presence. Feeling safe and connected can make a meaningful difference.

🤍 Help them say goodbye to what has changed or what has been lost. Grieving change is an important part of healing.

Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and everyone processes trauma and loss differently. Your presence, patience, and support can have a lasting impact.

📍At Therapeutic Self Care, our team of Licensed Therapists provide compassionate mental health counseling for children, teens, adults, and families throughout New Jersey.

If your loved one is struggling after a traumatic event or loss, we’re here to help. Reach out to learn whether one of our therapists may be a good fit.

High-functioning depression doesn’t always look like staying in bed.

Sometimes it looks like showing up to work.
Taking care of everyone else.
Working out.
Checking off every box.
Smiling.
Being “the strong one.”

And all the while, your inner dialogue is just trying to make it through the day.

If this video feels familiar, I want you to know something:

I see you.

You’re not lazy.
You’re not weak.
And you don’t have to earn the right to ask for help just because you’re still functioning.

As both a therapist and someone who’s walked through depression myself, I’ve learned that healing isn’t about never falling into another episode. It’s about building the tools to recognize it sooner, respond with intention, and find your way back.

Every time you choose to keep going, ask for support, practice the skills you’ve learned, or simply make it through another difficult day, you’re strengthening a part of yourself that depression wants you to believe doesn’t exist.

You are not alone.
There is hope.
And healing is possible.

If this resonated with you, leave a ❤️ or share it with someone who needs the reminder that they don’t have to carry this alone.

Sometimes the biggest sign you need a break is feeling like you don’t have time to take one.

If you’ve been feeling more tired, overwhelmed, or unlike yourself lately, consider it a reminder to slow down and check in with yourself. Self-care doesn’t have to be extravagant, it can be as simple as taking a walk, reading a few pages of a book, enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, or getting to bed a little earlier.

Taking care of yourself helps you show up more fully for everything and everyone that matters.
