This one is for all you athletes, coaches, parents of athletes, and anyone who loves the game of sports.

In this new Mindful Mud episode, I speak with Dr. Paul McCarthy from the UK, a sports psychologist who has worked for decades with professional athletes. We talk about mindfulness in sports, flow state, pressure, self-compassion, joy, and why true success is not just about pushing harder, but learning how to stay present, grounded, and connected.

A warm, inspiring, and fact filled conversation for athletes at every level, and really for all of us who want to meet life with more presence.

We are familiar with the phrase, “We are what we eat.”And in one sense, this is certainly true. Our body receives its fuel and building material from what we put into it. Food is transformed into energy, blood, tissue, and bone. This body is continuously rebuilt from what we take in.Last night, ...

I just came home from an incredible international Tai Chi Chuan retreat with my Master Dr. Yang. I feel deeply nourished after training with Tai Chi teachers from around the world, many of them dear old friends from many summers at the retreat center.

I feel so fortunate to have one of the great martial arts masters as my teacher and friend, just as I am blessed to have had Willigis Jäger as my Zen Master, teacher, and friend.

These gifts have changed my life, and undoubtedly saved my life. It touches me deeply that I get to let them flow forward now to my students and clients.

More and more, my bodywork is becoming another expression of these practices: meditation, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, presence, and deep listening through the body.

I feel truly blessed to live a life where my passion, my healing path, and my daily bread are woven together. 🙏🏻❤️

In this episode of Mindful Mud, I speak with Leslie Potter from Purejoy Parenting about mindful parenting, healthy boundaries, and staying connected to our children without becoming pushy or controlling.

We explore how to stay grounded in difficult parenting moments, how to anchor ourselves when emotions run high, and how to draw on our own deeper wisdom through presence. Leslie brings many practical examples, especially around parenting young adults and learning how to love, support, and trust them as they become their own people.

A warm, lively, and useful conversation for parents of children of any age who want to build healthier, more connected relationships.

In this episode of Mindful Mud, I speak with Devon Sangster Rath and Anthony Maes about mindfulness for teens, the deep support a retreat setting can offer, and the kind of authenticity that is needed when working with adolescents. We explore the work of Inward Bound Mindfulness, also known as I Be Me, and talk about how retreat can become a safe and powerful space for real transformation.

Devon and Anthony share their personal paths into mindfulness, what makes teen retreats both deep and accessible, and why no tech can be surprisingly healing for young people. We speak about connection, the importance of feeling safe enough to be real, and the kinds of shifts that can stay with teens for life.

We also talk about Dharma Homies, their daily relational mindfulness group on Zoom that is open to everyone. This is a heartfelt conversation about presence, belonging, and the healing power of mindful community.

A new episode of Mindful Mud is out!

In this deeply personal and intimate conversation, I sit down with Renshin Bunce, hospice chaplain and Zen priest, to speak about the sacredness of living and dying.
It is a very special episode.

Renshin shares from her years of hospice work, from Zen practice, and from her radical journey through life.
We talk about death, presence, dignity, fear, love, and the many different ways people meet the end of life.

This is a tender, honest, and very human conversation. One that reminds us that life and death are much closer than we often allow ourselves to see.

You can listen on your podcast app, or find Mindful Mud on my website under resources.
