We're excited to recognize our incredible PT, PTA, and OT students who are completing or have recently completed their clinical education with Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy this past June and July!

Across our clinics, these future healthcare professionals have embraced new challenges, strengthened their clinical skills, and built meaningful connections with patients and our teams. Their curiosity, dedication to patient care, and commitment to learning continue to make a positive impact throughout their clinical experiences.

We're proud to partner with outstanding educational programs, including Stony Brook University, Touro University – Long Island, Binghamton University, DeSales University, Russell Sage College, Hunter College, the University of Scranton, Franklin Pierce University, Ithaca College, New York University, and Nassau Community College, to help prepare the next generation of rehabilitation professionals.

A special thank you to our students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn, as well as to our clinical instructors and staff for fostering an environment where future clinicians can grow and thrive.

We're grateful to have each of these students as part of the Metro team during their clinical education and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in their future careers.

Looking for a fun way to help improve your child’s grip strength at home? 💪🐸

Try turning a tennis ball into a “grip strength frog” by cutting a small mouth into it and adding some eyes. Your child can squeeze the frog open and closed while feeding it pom poms to help strengthen their hand muscles and coordination.

Another fun option is using a bulb syringe to pick up and move cotton balls around. These simple activities help build hand strength while keeping kids engaged through play.

Easy, creative, and fun to do together at home!

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Alex Volpi of Optum Orthopedics for an educational lecture with our team at our Huntington Village clinic focused on Shoulder Instability.

Dr. Volpi shared valuable insights into the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of shoulder instability, highlighting current evidence-based approaches and the importance of collaboration between orthopedic specialists and physical therapists to optimize patient outcomes. Educational opportunities like these help our therapists continue expanding their clinical knowledge while staying current with advancements in orthopedic care and rehabilitation.

Thank you, Dr. Volpi, for taking the time to educate and collaborate with our team. We truly appreciate your expertise and look forward to future opportunities to learn together.

🏃‍♂️ Runners, don't skip your warm-up!

A few minutes of dynamic stretching before your run can help improve mobility, prepare your muscles, and get your body ready for every stride.

Try these 4 simple warm-up drills:
✅ Open the Gate
✅ Close the Gate
✅ Scoops
✅ Karaoke

Perform each exercise for 10 yards, 2 times each before heading out. Your hips, hamstrings, and overall movement will thank you!

Save this routine for your next run and share it with a fellow runner.
