What is DIR/Floortime? 🌈
If you walk into an Infinity & Beyond Kidz session, you might see me sitting on the floor, following a child’s lead, playing with their favorite toys, and joining them in their world. ✨
That’s DIR/Floortime!
🌟 So, what does DIR mean?
D — Developmental: Meeting your child at their current developmental level and helping them build new skills.
I — Individual Differences:Understanding that every child has a unique sensory system, communication style, strengths, and challenges.
R — Relationship-Based: Using connection, trust, and meaningful relationships as the foundation for learning.
Floortime means getting down on your child’s level, following their interests, and using play to build connection and developmental skills.
💜 Why do I use it?
Because children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and engaged.
Through purposeful play, we can work on:

💬 Communication
❤️ Connection & interaction
🧘 Regulation
👐 Motor skills
🔄 Flexibility & transitions
And no, we’re not “just playing.” 😉
