Showing Up. Building Connections. Strengthening Communities. 💙

Yesterday was a full day of community, connection, and purpose for R.E.C. Treatment Center!

We started the morning at the JustServe Community Fair in Downtown Rockwall, connecting with our local community and sharing more about who we are, the services we provide, and our commitment to helping individuals impacted by substance use and the justice system build healthier lives.

Later, we headed to South Dallas for the 2026 Big Texas Rally & Resource Fair hosted by APAA, where we had another opportunity to connect with individuals, families, community organizations, and resources from across DFW.

Community outreach is about making sure people know that help exists, treatment is accessible, and there are people willing to meet them where they are without judgment.

Whether we’re providing treatment inside a jail, serving clients through our outpatient programs, or standing alongside other organizations at community events, the mission remains the same:

Rehabilitation. Education. Community.

Second chances need somewhere to begin. 💚

We’re excited to announce that R.E.C. Treatment Center is participating in North Texas Giving Day on September 17!

Over the past year, what began as a vision has become real work happening in our community. We’ve brought substance use treatment inside the Rockwall County Jail, expanded access to outpatient services throughout North Texas, and built partnerships that connect individuals with treatment, employment resources, behavioral health care, and opportunities for a more stable future.

This North Texas Giving Day, we’re inviting our community to help us continue that work.

Employment & Budgeting

Recovery isn’t only about stopping substance use. It’s also about building a life that supports recovery.

Employment can provide much more than a paycheck. It creates structure, purpose, responsibility, and an opportunity to begin rebuilding financial stability. But earning income is only one part of the equation—learning how to manage it matters too.

This week we focused on practical skills like budgeting, prioritizing needs, managing bills, grocery shopping within our means, and planning ahead instead of making decisions based only on what feels good in the moment.
The goal isn’t to have a lot of money. It’s learning to use what we have intentionally.

For someone rebuilding their life, seemingly ordinary accomplishments can represent significant progress: keeping a job, buying groceries, paying a bill on time, preparing for the next paycheck, and becoming more dependable for the people who count on them.

Financial stability doesn’t happen overnight—and neither does recovery.

Both are built through small, responsible decisions repeated over time.

Recovery isn’t just about leaving an old life behind. It’s about developing the skills to build a new one.
