Yesterday I sat with a family during an assessment for their mom. At one point, her son said something that stopped me: “She doesn’t know who I am anymore.”

That’s a kind of grief most people never have to carry losing someone while they’re still right in front of you. Grieving a person who’s still alive.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s don’t just take memory. They take recognition, connection, the small daily proof that you matter to someone who raised you. And the toll it takes on sons and daughters the ones showing up, asking questions, trying to do right by a parent who can’t remember their name is real and it’s heavy.

If you’re in it right now, or you’ve been there before: I see you. It’s one of the hardest things a family can walk through, and it deserves to be talked about more than it is.

Our residents were treated to a true fine-dining experience this Valentine’s Day, thanks to the incredible talent of our Chef! 👨‍🍳✨

The dining room was full of smiles as we served up a masterpiece menu:

The Main Event: Honey BBQ Glazed Wrapped Pork Roulette (stuffed with fresh spinach, melted cheese, and crisp peppers) 🍖

The Comfort: Creamy, cheesy Mac N Cheese 🧀

The Greens: Steamed Broccoli with sautéed peppers 🥦

The Grand Finale: Decadent Cookies N Cream Pie! 🥧🍪
