🚒✈️ Regional Collaboration in Action! ✈️🚒

Today, Tom Fentress, Tom Bettenhausen, and Maxx Spear from the Methodist Hospitals Regional Coordination Center had the opportunity to assist the Gary Fire Department with the Triannual Gary Airport Disaster Drill.

These exercises provide valuable hands-on training and strengthen coordination between fire, EMS, hospitals, emergency management, and other public safety partners. By working together in a realistic disaster scenario, we enhance our region’s preparedness and ensure we are ready to respond effectively when real emergencies occur.

We are proud to support our public safety partners and appreciate the dedication of everyone who participated in making today's exercise a success.

Thank you to the Gary Fire Department, Gary/Chicago International Airport, and all participating agencies for their commitment to protecting our communities.

🎉 Congratulations to Paramedic Brittney Greer! 🎉

I received some great news this weekend when Brittney Greer let me know that she successfully passed the National Registry Paramedic (NREMT) exam!

Brittney is a graduate of our 2023-2024 Paramedic Cohort, and earning her paramedic certification is a testament to her determination, grit, and unwavering commitment to achieving her goal.

As one of her instructors, I had the privilege of watching her growth throughout the program. Whether it was spending extra time in the lab practicing skills until she had them perfected or asking thoughtful questions when she wasn't completely confident in a concept, Brittney consistently demonstrated the work ethic and dedication it takes to become an outstanding paramedic.

It was clear from early on that she wanted to master the material; not just pass the class. She pushed herself to learn, improve, and grow every step of the way. Because of that, I had no doubt she would one day earn the title of Paramedic.

Please join me in congratulating Brittney on this incredible accomplishment and wishing her continued success as she begins the next chapter of her EMS career.
