Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can affect anyone. It is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening or traumatic event. If symptoms last more than a few months, it may be PTSD. The good news is that there are effective treatments that can reduce symptoms and lead to a better quality of life.

About 6 out of every 100 people (or 6% of the U.S. population) will have PTSD at some point in their lives. In 2020, about 13 million Americans had PTSD. Even though PTSD treatments work, most people who have been diagnosed do not get the help they need.

National PTSD Awareness Day aims to raise public awareness about the disorder, educate a wide audience about PTSD and provide those affected with access to proper treatment.

If you or someone you know needs help, you can dial 988 and then press 1.

For more information about PTSD, you can visit the National Center for PTSD’s website: www.ptsd.va.gov

You are not alone.

Yay! We hope you have a great Friday.

A prosthetic leg can help someone walk.

But what about running beside their child?

Playing soccer with friends?

Crossing a finish line?

Hiking the AT?

For many individuals with limb loss, insurance coverage ends at basic mobility. The prosthetic devices needed for sports, recreation, and active living are often considered "extras" and this puts life-changing opportunities out of reach.

At Anchor Brace & Limb, we believe movement is about more than getting from point A to point B.

It's about freedom.
It's about belonging.
It's about confidence.
It's about living fully.

This July, we're encouraging our community to join the 28 x 28 Mobility Challenge and support the mission of So Every BODY Can Move.

Together, we can help advocate for a future where every person has access to movement.
