• Sun
• Sweat
• Bug bites
• Plants
• Heat
• Water

Skin cancer doesn’t always appear where you expect it.
While many people watch spots on the face, arms, and legs, concerning areas can also appear in places that are easy to miss.

Don’t forget to check:
• Scalp
• Ears
• Back
• Between toes
• Soles of feet
• Under nails
• Behind knees

That’s one reason routine skin checks can be so important—some spots are hard to see on your own.

Pay attention to spots that are new, changing, or not healing. Skin cancer can appear in many ways, which is why it’s important to notice changes in your skin. Warning signs may include:

• A mole or spot that is changing in size, shape, or color
• A sore that won’t heal
• Itching, bleeding, or tenderness
• Irregular borders or multiple colors
• A spot that looks different from others
