Symphysis P***s Dysfunction (SPD) is more than just “normal pregnancy discomfort.” 🤍

If you’re experiencing pain in the front of your pelvis, discomfort when walking, rolling over in bed, getting dressed, or standing on one leg, SPD may be the reason.

During pregnancy, hormonal changes and a growing belly can place extra stress on the pelvis, leading to instability and pain.

At The Hive, we help support proper pelvic alignment, improve mobility, and reduce tension through gentle prenatal chiropractic care and movement, so you can progress through your pregnancy with more comfort and confidence. ✨

You don’t have to just “push through” the pain.

SIJ pain? Let’s talk stability 👇

If you’re dealing with sacroiliac joint (SIJ) discomfort, one of the most common things I see is hypermobility (aka the joint is moving a little too much).

So what do we do?

We build stability 💪

Here are 3 movements I commonly use in the office to help support the SIJ and activate those hip stabilizers:
✨ Box Squats
✨ Low Bear → High Bear Rocks
✨ 90/90 Get Ups

These aren’t just random exercises—they’re intentional, controlled movements that help your body feel more supported and balanced around the pelvis 🤍

⚡️Stay tuned—I’ll be breaking down each of these movements with more specifics in upcoming posts so you can feel confident doing them on your own!

If you’ve ever felt a deep ache in your low back, hips, or even pain that travels down your leg… your SI joint might be involved.

The sacroiliac (SI) joint connects your spine to your pelvis and while it doesn’t move much, it plays a huge role in stability, force transfer, and how your body handles movement.

When it’s irritated or not functioning well, it can mimic other issues (like low back pain, hip pain or sciatica), making it confusing to pinpoint.

In this series, we’re breaking it all down so you can better understand your body, your pain, and find movements that can help you!
