A wonderful ending to share!

Luna has been found and is home safe with her family! The family asked that we share a personal "Thank you" from them to all that reached out and helped them!

----------------

Please help us find Luna!!! One of the clinic neighbors has lost their very sweet young lab. Please call us with any citings and we can relay them to the owners!

She was recently spayed, she has a large area of her stomach shaved. She has dark on her ears and her hind legs are also dark. Please look for these markings and let us know if you see anything. She is microchipped. We’re very worried about our girl.

Just a friendly reminder that we close at 2:30 pm today. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Working at a veterinary clinic is basically a daily mix of chaos, compassion, caffeine, and the occasional “what just happened?!” moment.

So we’ve found a solution for staff wellness that we fully support:

Betta fish. 🐟

No barking.
No surprise a**l gland expressions.
No one trying to eat the exam table.

Just one tiny, judgmental coworker floating peacefully on your desk like, “Have you tried… calming down?”

Research says watching fish can lower stress and anxiety—and honestly, after a double-booked schedule and a dog that really didn’t want its nails trimmed, we’ll take all the help we can get.

Bonus perks:
✔️ They don’t need appointment slots
✔️ They never call out sick
✔️ Their side-eye keeps morale in check

So if you see a betta fish behind the front desk, just know… it’s part of our mental health program.

We currently have five betta co-workers! Here is a photo of Nemo!

No, it’s not static you hear when the phone is answered here at Heart of Gold Veterinary Care… it’s all of us goo goo and gaa gaa-ing over our newest receptionists! We’re so smitten we don’t even mind the drool — honestly, around here we’re pretty used to it anyway. 🍼💛💛

It was such fun having Doctor Gulvin’s twins, Abbie and Addie, join our team for the day. They kept us smiling, entertained, and on our toes!

We also got to practice our singing skills with a few rounds of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse… 🎶 HOT DOG! 🎶

As a veterinarian, we want to remind everyone that fleas and ticks are not just a “woods” problem—they’re in your backyard, at the baseball field, on walking trails, and even in your neighborhood parks.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, these parasites are widespread and active whenever temperatures rise above freezing—and in many cases, year-round.

Why does this matter? Because fleas and ticks don’t just cause itching—they can transmit serious diseases, including:
• Lyme disease• Anaplasmosis• Ehrlichiosis• Tapeworm infections (from fleas)

We are seeing these diseases more frequently, even in pets that don’t leave their own yard.

The takeaway: prevention is not optional—it’s essential. Consistent, year-round flea and tick prevention is the best way to protect your pets (and your family).

If you’re unsure what your pet should be on, reach out—we’re happy to help you choose the safest and most effective option.

Stay safe, enjoy the outdoors, and protect those furry family members 🐾

We had one of our youngest clients stop in recently—and she made sure her very important patient, “Bonzo,” got the care he deserved 💛🐾

Bonzo came in to have a boo-boo checked out, and our student vet tech, Kiera, jumped right in to help. She made sure his injury was carefully examined, properly bandaged, and that he was feeling much better before heading home.

Of course, no visit would be complete without a little extra love—so Bonzo was sent home with his very own complimentary bandanna 🩺✨

Moments like these remind us that compassion and care start early, and we’re always honored to look after all members of your family… even the stuffed ones 😊

Feel free to share a photo of your favorite bandanna from Heart of Gold—we’d love to see them!!!

Two mamas. Two journeys. So much strength 💕

Back in December, Dr. Gulvin and our technician Sarah stood side by side as they worked through pregnancy together.

Fast forward to now…
Two healthy mamas.
Three beautiful babies.
And so much gratitude.

From 28 & 31 weeks pregnant → to 7 & 9 weeks postpartum 💗

Watching these two go from growing life to holding their babies has been nothing short of amazing. See the extra bonus photo of Sarah’s daughter holding her sister and meeting Dr. Gulvins twins.

Thank you for being patient with us and our staff as these ladies spent time bonding with their new family members. Both will be returning to the practice in April.
