ACTION ITEM #1: Comment on CMS's proposal at regulations.gov/docket/CMS-2026-2377 to tell them that you value lactation care from IBCLCs, that your IBCLC did not need to also be a registered nurse to be qualified to give really good care, and that outside of the hospital stay, a lactation visit lasting 30 minutes or less is not enough to observe a whole infant feeding, educate, do an oral exam, and help with pumping.

ACTION ITEM #2: If you have United Healthcare, let UnitedHealthcare know how crucial lactation care has been for your journey and tell them you are concerned their lack of reimbursement for infants is going to the sustainability of lactation care and its availability in your area.

Thank you so incredibly much to everyone who donated baby feeding items during World Breastfeeding Week to pass along to new parents in the community. I am always floored by the generosity of parents.

A big thank you to the Sands Family YMCA and The Family Counseling Services of the Finger Lakes for hosting collection boxes, and a special shout out to the New York Milk Bank for going out of their way to ship some supplies to our community.

Families at the upcoming Wayne and Seneca County community baby showers will be receiving these items you all so generously donated.

🌼🌺🌸Finished feeding? Pass it forward.🌸🌺🌼

In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, I'm collecting gently used infant feeding supplies to share with local families through community baby showers and lactation support home visits. This will be the final collection drive for 2026.

Drive will be August 1-7.

A huge thank you to the YMCA and Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes for serving as drop off sites! It means so much to have local organizations willing to help families care for one another.
