What should you expect during a spinal decompression session?
At Hart Chiropractic & Functional Wellness, spinal decompression therapy is performed using the DRX9000C, an FDA-cleared, computer-controlled system designed to gently reduce pressure on damaged or degenerating spinal discs, without surgery.
Dr. Hart, a founding member of the American Spinal Decompression Society, incorporates this technology as part of The Hart Method, a structured, 3 phase approach to restoring spinal function and addressing the root cause of disc-related pain.
➡️ Here’s what a typical session looks like:
You’re comfortably positioned on the decompression table while a harness is placed securely around your lower body. Once set, the system slowly guides your body into position gradually raising and supporting you into a controlled, precise stretch.
During a session (which typically ranges from 20–30 minutes), the table applies a gentle, rhythmic pulling force at a carefully calibrated angle. Many patients describe the sensation as a light, steady stretch across the spine often relaxing enough to rest or unwind completely.
After treatment, patients transition into a recovery phase using targeted red light therapy with the MOVE+ device. This combination of red light and laser technology is designed to support disc healing and reduce inflammation in the treated area.
Patients will leave feeling lighter, looser, and more aligned after each session as the spine is gently guided toward reduced pressure and improved function.
