“In our society, we are often expected to ‘get over’ our grief and ‘move on.’ Sadly, grief does not work this way as it is not an event but a process as unique as each individual griever. When you lose a loved one, coping with loss is something you do every day for the rest of your life. You must make room in your life to interact with your grief, especially when you least expect it.”
- Rochelle Perper, Ph.D.

A wonderful evening with friends as well as making new friends, celebrating the Georgetown and Scott County Museum.

“A history not preserved is a history lost” was shared by Ms Shirl Marks.

We’re proud to have and display in the funeral home some of our history, from the original furniture store to recent gifts shared when our owner, Grant Bolt was President of the state association.

For 126 years now, Johnson’s Funeral Home has faithfully served Scott County and proud to be part of the history here.

“Show me the manner in which a nation or a community cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender sympathies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land, and their loyalty to high ideals.”

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country and preserve our freedom. We thank you for your dedication and service. Gone, but never forgotten. 🇺🇸

“Honor to the Soldier, and Sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor also to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field, and serves, as best he can, the same cause—honor to him, less only than to him, who braves, for the common good, the storms of heaven and the storms of battle.”
