If your child manages a chronic condition—like asthma, severe food allergies, diabetes, or seasonal allergies—getting school medical paperwork sorted in advance is essential for a safe school year! 🎒🩺
Here is your medical checklist before the bell rings:
🚨 Anaphylaxis / EpiPens: Ensure updated Allergy Action Plans are signed by your doctor and unexpired EpiPens/Auvi-Qs are delivered to the school nurse.
🫁 Asthma Action Plans: Check that rescue inhalers (with spacers!) are unexpired and designated for the school clinic along with signed administration forms.
🩸 Diabetes Management Plans: Verify supplies, continuous glucose monitor (CGM) protocols, and low-treatment kits are reviewed with school staff.
🌸 Seasonal Allergy Plan: If your child needs daily antihistamines during fall pollen season, coordinate timing so they are covered during outdoor recess.
At Bluegrass Direct Primary Care, Dr. Kristina Jayne completes school forms, medical action plans, and prescription refills quickly—without the long turnaround times of traditional clinics.
