Hi! I’m Laura, a birth and bereavement doula with a heart for walking alongside families through pregnancy and infant loss. 🤍

I provide compassionate support through miscarriage, stillbirth, life-limiting diagnoses, and infant loss. My bereavement services are ALWAYS FREE to families.

No one should have to face the loss of their baby alone.

I’d love for you to save my information and share this post with friends, family, healthcare providers, pastors and others in our community.

My hope is that when a family needs support, someone can say, “I know someone who can help.” 🤍

Today at the maternity fair, I got to watch one of my favorite things happen. 🦋

I watched this little tree slowly fill with butterflies, each one placed in remembrance of a baby gone too soon.

Every butterfly represents a little life. A name. A story. A family who carries a love that doesn’t end.

There’s something incredibly special about making space for pregnancy and infant loss in a place where we’re celebrating pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.

Because these babies are part of motherhood, too.

And they deserve to be remembered. Always. 🤍

Today, I’m sharing the names of babies who have been remembered with me over the years. 🤍

Each of these names represents a baby who is deeply loved and deeply missed. I’m sharing them ahead of tonight’s Wave of Light so their families can share them, too, and so these babies’ names can be seen and remembered.

At 7 PM tonight, we light our candles. We remember the babies who should still be here. We hold space for the families who carry them in their hearts every day.

To the families who have trusted me with your babies’ names, thank you for allowing me to remember them with you.

Their names deserve to be said. Today, we say them. 🕯️

Please let me know in the comments if you want a graphic made for your baby.
I will do my best to make it by this evening!

🤍 Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day 🤍

Today is for the babies we never got to bring home.

The babies whose names we still say.
The birthdays we still remember.
The due dates that still hurt.
The empty arms, the empty nurseries, and the futures we imagined that will never look the way we planned.

It’s for the parents who have learned how to carry grief and keep living. The ones who can laugh, love their other children, go to work, and show up for life while carrying a heartbreak most people will never fully understand.

It’s for the moms who are still moms, even when their babies aren’t physically here.

For the dads whose grief is too often overlooked.
For the siblings who miss someone they may never have gotten to meet.
For the families who are still trying to figure out who they are after loss.

And it’s for the babies who deserve to be remembered. Not just today. Not just in October. But always.

As a bereavement doula, I have had the privilege of sitting with families in some of the hardest moments of their lives. I know there is no perfect thing to say, no timeline for grief, and no way to make this kind of loss okay.

But I also know this: you do not have to stop saying their names to make other people comfortable. You do not have to be done grieving because time has passed. And you do not have to prove how much you love your baby by how visibly you hurt.

If you’re remembering a baby today, whether your loss was yesterday or decades ago, whether you carried them for weeks or held them in your arms, whether the world knew about your pregnancy or never even knew your baby existed — your baby matters.

Your grief matters.

Your motherhood and fatherhood matter.

And your baby will always be part of your story.

Today, we remember the babies who are missing from our arms but will never be missing from our hearts. 🕊️

Say their names. Remember their lives. Make room for their parents.

You never know who is quietly carrying a loss of their own.

Hi, I’m Laura 🤍

If you’re pregnant and looking for a doula who will support your birth….I’d love to connect.

🌱I offer birth support rooted in evidence-based information, trauma-informed care, and a whole lot of “you’re not doing this alone.” From VBACs to first babies, complicated histories to straightforward pregnancies, my job is to help you feel informed, heard, supported, and confident walking into your birth.

✨ Now booking birth clients in Central Kentucky!

Continuing to add tools to my doula toolbox. 🤍

Today I’m training with Postpartum Support International on Perinatal Substance Use Disorder.

Because trauma-informed doula care means being prepared to support the whole person—not just the pregnancy.

Substance use can intersect with pregnancy, birth trauma, mental health, NICU stays, pregnancy and infant loss, grief, and some of the hardest moments a family will ever experience.

Whether I’m supporting a live birth or walking beside a family through loss, my job isn’t to judge how someone arrived in that room.

It’s to meet them there with dignity, compassion, education, and support.

Every family deserves care without shame. 🤍

For your beautiful girl,

May this gown hold her gently when your arms have to let her go.

And afterward, may these things be something you can hold when you wish more than anything that you could hold her instead.

Her life mattered. Her name matters. She will always be one of your twins, and you will always be her mother.

I am so deeply sorry that you have to carry this kind of goodbye.

With love,
Laura

I have a few birth doula spots I’d really love to fill this fall and early winter!

So, then means a quick discount on services!

For the next 3 families who book birth support with me, I’m offering my full birth doula package for $1,500 instead of $1,800.
That’s $300 off JUST because I have the space on my calendar and I’d love to spend it doing what I LOVE…supporting families as they bring their babies into the world!

My birth doula support includes prenatal prep continuous labor and birth support, immediate postpartum, support and someone in your corner who believes deeply that you deserve to feel informed, respected, safe, and supported throughout your birth.

If you are designing an unmedicated birth, know you want the epidural, are preparing for a VBAC, expecting a scheduled cesarean, or genuinely have no idea what you want yet you deserve to have really good support.

3 spots. $1,500 each.
Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
If you’ve been considering having a doula at your birth or quietly watching my page wondering if you should reach out, maybe this is your sign.
Send me a message and let’s talk about your birth.

Birth can move quickly, but that does not mean your voice should disappear. Unless there is a true emergency, you are allowed to ask: What are the benefits? What are the risks? What happens if we wait? A good doula will not make the decision for you—but she will help you find your voice when the room feels loud.

Sometimes doula support looks like breathing beside you through contractions. Sometimes it looks like slowing down a room that suddenly feels too fast. I cannot promise you the birth you imagined—but I can help make sure you aren’t left alone inside the birth you actually experience.
