On Thursday, September 24th, La Red Health Center will be opening at 7:30am and will be closing at 2pm.

Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) is observed every September to bring attention to all five gynecologic cancers: cervical, ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vaginal, and vulvar.

It’s a time to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, educate communities, and drive action toward better prevention, earlier detection, and improved outcomes for all.

Navigating cancer screenings, or facing a diagnosis alone is hard, that’s why La Red Health Center is here for you with the Delaware Screening for Life program.

La Red Health Center participates in the Screening for Life program that provides payment for cancer screening tests to qualified Delaware adults.

Each September, the National Alliance on Mental Illness recognizes Su***de Prevention Month as a time to raise awareness, spread hope, and spark meaningful action around one of the most urgent mental health issues of our time.

🫧Clean Hands Save Lives! 🫧

This week is International Clean Hands Week! This week is an annual observance held each September to promote hand hygiene as the single most effective way to prevent the spread of infections. 🦠

Establishing proper handwashing habits at a young age is key to helping children stay safe against germs, and to build lifelong hygiene habits.

Teach your kids how to scrub those germs away using the steps below. Or better yet, wash your hands together often, so they learn the importance of good habits:

💧Wet hands with clean, running water (warm or cold). Make sure the water isn't too hot for little hands.

🧼Use soap and lather up for about 20 seconds. You can sing a song like “Happy Birthday” twice to help kids wash for the whole 20 seconds. Antibacterial soap isn't a must — any soap will do.

🖐️Get in between fingers, on the backs of hands, and under the nails where germs like to hang out. Don't forget the wrists!

💨Rinse well and dry well with a clean towel.
