March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis is often minimized as “just bad cramps” — but for many women, it’s so much more.

Pelvic pain. Painful periods. Pain with intimacy. Fatigue.
And often… being told it’s “normal.”

It’s not.

When pain becomes chronic, the body adapts — especially the pelvic floor. Muscles can become tight, guarded, and overworked, which can make symptoms even worse.

That’s where pelvic floor physical therapy comes in.

We don’t treat endometriosis itself — but we help support your body so pain doesn’t control your life.

You deserve more than just “managing” your symptoms.
You deserve support that helps you feel better in your body.

If this resonates, you’re not alone—and there are options. 💛

✨ Meet Aleisha 💛

Aleisha became a PT because she knew helping people move and feel better would be rewarding… and she was right. After having her first baby and going through pelvic floor therapy herself, she felt called to specialize in pelvic floor PT — and we’re so grateful she did.

At Moving Like a Mother, she loves the people most — our supportive team and the incredible patients we get to walk alongside every day. The holistic wellness mindset? That’s her jam.

One thing she wishes everyone knew: Everyone has a pelvic floor (yes, even men!) — and you don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough” to seek care. Preventative pelvic floor therapy can be so powerful.

A few fun facts about Aleisha:
☕️ Tea girl through and through — chai tea latte with almond milk is her go-to.
👨‍👩‍👧 Best day off = a family adventure, exploring somewhere new.
🏡 Small town roots (only 28 in her graduating class!).
📍 Tosa local who loves Cranky Al’s, Yo Mama’s, Joy Ice Cream Social, Café Hollander, and Firefly Grove Park.
🎶 Pump-up song? Sk8ter Boi (with a side of kid songs and audiobooks while working out).
🎧 Never misses an episode of the Smart Money Happy Hour podcast.

Three words that describe her: Relatable. Empathetic. Adventurous.

We’re so lucky to have her on the MLAM team 🤍

Your pelvic floor doesn’t work alone — it’s deeply connected to your nervous system.

The nerves that run through your pelvis help control your bladder, bowel, sexual function, and even how your muscles relax and contract. When these nerves become irritated, compressed, or overstimulated, it can show up as symptoms like:

• Pelvic pain or pressure
• Burning or tingling in the pelvis
• Urgency or frequency with urination
• Pain with in*******se
• Difficulty fully relaxing your pelvic floor

Your body isn’t “broken.” These symptoms are often your nervous system asking for support.

Pelvic floor physical therapy helps calm the nervous system, improve nerve mobility, and restore healthy communication between your brain and your pelvic floor.

Healing isn’t just about muscles — it’s about the nerves, the breath, and the whole system working together.

✨ Your body deserves care that looks at the whole picture.
