Outpatient therapy is available at our communities! Therapy can support people working back from a surgery, a fall, or a hospital stay. It can also help when something that used to be easy has quietly gotten harder: stairs, standing up from a chair, staying steady on a wet sidewalk.

In whether a hard conversation gets the time it actually needs. In whether people feel able to raise a problem early instead of late. In whether a building stays steady on the days that are not steady.

TEAMWORK TAKES MANY FORMS! 💪

Puget Sound Care employees traded their scrubs for sneakers and took on a Spartan Race together, tackling more than 7 miles and 20 obstacles along the way!

There was plenty of mud, laughter and teamwork as the team pushed through every challenge together. From cheering each other on to getting a little dirty, it was a day full of connection, camaraderie and fun.

Sometimes, the best team-building happens outside the workplace. We’re proud of this team for taking on the challenge together! 🏃‍♀️💛

BRINGING PARTNERS TOGETHER. 💛

Parkside Care recently welcomed hospital, hospice and skilled nursing professionals from across the region for a PASRR training focused on improving understanding and accuracy throughout the process.

By bringing care partners together in one room, the training created space to answer questions, clarify responsibilities and build greater transparency around a process that plays an important role in safe, smooth transitions of care.

The day also included lunch prepared by the Parkside kitchen team, giving attendees time to connect, strengthen relationships and continue the conversation beyond the training.

At Parkside Care, we believe stronger partnerships help create better experiences for the people we serve.

The plan for going home starts long before anyone goes home.

October 11 to 17 is National Case Management Week. Case management and social services teams handle the parts of care most families never see: insurance authorizations, equipment orders, home safety questions, family meetings, follow-up appointments, and the coordination between hospital, community, and whatever comes next.

They are also the person a family calls when they are overwhelmed and do not know what to ask.
When a transition goes smoothly, that is not luck. Somebody built it.

We’re excited to welcome Kim Hinrichs, our new Director of Business Development for Fir Lane Care and Willapa Harbor Care. With extensive experience in long-term care, Kim brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and dedication to building strong relationships with community partners and referral sources.

We’re also welcoming Emily Anspach as the new Director of Nursing at Spokane Falls Care! A University of Montana graduate with a broad nursing background, Emily brings a passion for long-term and skilled nursing care and was drawn to Spokane Falls by the team’s compassion and supportive spirit.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her animals, hiking to waterfalls, skiing and baking sweet treats. We’re looking forward to getting to know her—and hopefully enjoying some of those baked goodies along the way! 🧁

SHINING THROUGH THE AGES AT CHERRYWOOD CARE! ✨

Assisted Living Week was full of fun, connection and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our residents, families and team at Cherrywood Care!

From a 1950s Sock Hop with malts and live music to a groovy 1970s Bingo Bash, our Dress Your Decade fashion show and Spirit Day at our Assisted Living Week Carnival, we had a wonderful time celebrating across the decades. 🎶🕺

The carnival also brought our community together with games, local vendors and our pie-in-the-face fundraiser! For just $1 a pie or 3 for $2, everyone had a chance to join in on the fun while helping us raise money to purchase holiday gifts for our residents. Every dollar raised will go toward making the holidays extra special. 🥧🎁

We also took time to celebrate our Environmental Services team during Environmental Services Week, recognizing our housekeepers and maintenance team members with a small token of our appreciation for everything they do.

And a special thank-you to our besties at Three Rivers Care for sending coffee to help us celebrate Assisted Living Week! ☕💛

What a week of laughter, creativity, community and appreciation. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so memorable!

A tray is never just a tray.

Before a meal reaches someone, a therapeutic diet order has been checked, a texture has been adjusted, an allergy has been worked around, someone has remembered that she takes her coffee light, and a plate has been made to look like food worth eating.

October 4 to 10 is Healthcare Food Service Workers Week. Dietary teams sit where nutrition, safety, and comfort meet, three times a day, weekends and holidays included. If you know someone on a dietary team, this is a good week to tell them you noticed.
