🧡 CST Tuesday 🧡
Have you ever wondered how such a gentle touch can have an effect on the body?
It's one of the questions I love about Craniosacral Therapy.
We're so accustomed to thinking that if something is tight, restricted, or uncomfortable, we need to push harder, stretch farther, or use more pressure.
CST takes a very different approach.
Using a light, gentle touch, I listen through my hands for subtle patterns of tension and restriction within the craniosacral system and surrounding tissues.
As a physical therapist, I'm very familiar with using my hands in a more traditional therapeutic way. One of the things I've learned through Craniosacral Therapy is how distinctly different CST touch feels. When I enter my healing room, my hands know the difference—the intention, the pressure, and even the way I listen through touch changes.
Rather than forcing the body to change, the intention is to work with the body—giving it an opportunity to soften, release, and find greater ease.
And perhaps that's one of the lessons CST continues to teach me...
More force isn't always the answer.
Sometimes less really can be more.
Sometimes the body responds best when we stop pushing...
and start listening.
