We all need a little support from time to time... Just like this tomato plant.

This plant didn't go in the ground until around June, so it got a bit of a late start. Then it suffered a bit from the blister beetle invasion a few weeks ago and I had to prune the branches that got destroyed. Now that it's finally started producing fruit, it's gotten top heavy and fallen over. I found some soft and stretchy hair bands at the dollar store, cut them, and tied the plant to the support structure so it can keep growing.

Sometimes it's hard to ask for or accept help when history has taught your nervous system that it's unsafe to do so. If that resonates, I see you and I love you. I won't lie and pretend that it's easy to allow our cracks and vulnerabilities to show because it's not. It is a process that takes time and compassion.

I feel like I don't know what I'm doing in my garden most of the time - just following instinct and hope. Healing my trauma wounds feels much the same sometimes.

My wish for you today is that you can allow yourself to be supported, even if it's in one small way. I can't wait to see you blossom when you do.

Idk who needs to hear this, but this is your reminder that "perfection" is not real - it is a lie created by systems of oppression to keep you stuck in fear. Fear of making the wrong choice or decision... Fear of being seen... Fear of feeling inadequate...
