Girard Medical Center’s Wound Care Department provides advanced, compassionate care for patients dealing with both acute and chronic wounds—helping individuals heal, regain comfort, and improve their quality of life close to home.
At the heart of this care is GiAnna Arthur, RN, who has been part of Girard Medical Center for over eight years. Originally from Weir, Kansas, Gianna understands the importance of accessible healthcare in rural communities and the meaningful relationships built through patient care.
In the Wound Care Clinic, patients receive individualized treatment plans, advanced wound care techniques, specialty dressings, and ongoing monitoring to support healing. Gianna works closely with patients through every stage of the process—cleaning, measuring, documenting, and tracking weekly progress to ensure the best possible outcomes.
What GiAnna enjoys most is watching the healing process unfold and seeing patients regain their quality of life after struggling with wounds that may have lasted for months. In a small community, those connections become personal, and the gratitude patients share makes the work especially rewarding.
Our Wound Care Department is more than a clinic—it’s a place of healing, encouragement, and hope for patients and families throughout Southeast Kansas.
This is what being Rooted in Rural means—advanced care, compassionate relationships, and helping our neighbors heal close to home.
