Alliance Counseling Associates is a private mental health practice with offices located in Bowling Green and Glasgow, Kentucky. Locally, we serve all areas of the Barren River region consisting of Warren, Barren, Simpson, Allen, Logan, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Metcalfe and Monroe Counties as well as anywhere in Kentucky through Telehealth (confidential video chat). We were founded in January of 201
1 in an effort to improve and expand mental health treatment. Alliance is built on the premise of utilizing a strong team of professionals who collaborate with one another and the community to maximize what is best for those in need. Our professionals include Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Clinical Socials Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselor Associates and Licensed Psychologists. Our mission is to form solid collaborative relationships with our clients through the use of traditional and holistic interventions while assisting each person in finding opportunities to realize their potential, increase hope that change and growth are possible, and improve the overall quality of their lives. We also believe that providing inspiration, humor and mental health education to everyone we can reach is of great importance. We are a company of people who believe in treating every human being with respect, equality and a helping hand. We work with people of all ages and backgrounds as well as varying degrees of need. Some people may need a few outpatient counseling sessions to resolve their challenges while others may need years of services that could include having a targeted case manager, community support specialist or participating in our therapeutic rehabilitation program. Whenever possible and safe, we do our best to provide these intense services in order to prevent things such as children having to be placed in foster care, children or adults placed in crisis units or inpatient psychiatric facilities or placements in detention centers, jails or prisons. Stabilizing someone within their home is always best in order to prevent the trauma associated with higher levels of care. Alliance accepts all Kentucky Medicaid plans, Medicare and the majority of private, commercial insurances to include: Anthem, Humana, Aetna, TriCare/Humana Military, United Healthcare and more. Since the Alliance team believes in giving back to the community we also have a program called Alliance Outreach where we have supervised masters level interns providing counseling sessions to individuals free of charge. Some common focus area's of treatment are: depression, anxiety, PTSD, family or marital conflicts, common issues related to adolescents or early childhood, grief, obsessions and compulsions, interpersonal conflicts, poor self esteem or self worth, anger management, impulse control, abuse (physical, sexual and/or emotional), out of control behaviors, self-harm, eating disorders, mood instability to include the subtypes of Bipolar Disorder, challenges associated with mid-life issues, career changes, facing mortality with aging, and many more. If Alliance is unable to assist a person with what they need, a referral is made out of the agency to the most appropriate treatment provider. We are here to help and will do everything we can to improve your quality of life.
