During this week’s Artist in Residence session at the CARES Institute, teaching artist Jessica Mungekar guided healthcare professionals through Drawing with Wire, a workshop that transformed simple materials into expressive, three-dimensional sculptures.

As participants shaped wire, added colorful fibers and beads, and personalized their creations, they explored creativity in a mindful and hands-on way. Each finished piece reflected a unique perspective while offering a moment to pause, create, and connect.

Piece by piece, our community is bringing this vision to life. ✨

We’re halfway through our mosaic-making workshops with Artist in Residence, Aya Kinosh*ta! Participants have been coming together to create individual mosaic pieces that will become part of a permanent installation at the Rowan-Virtua Regional Integrated Special Needs Center (RISN) on the Rowan Medicine Sewell Campus.

These first two workshops have been filled with creativity, collaboration, and meaningful connections. We can’t wait to see the remaining sessions and the finished mosaic come together!☺️

Once again, a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Arts in Health Conference! 🤗

This day brought together all who care deeply about creativity, healing, and community. So much wisdom was shared, and now the work continues through the small ways we practice it, bringing the arts into everyday care. 🎨🎶

“Arts participation can support mental health, physical health, social connection, aging, caregiving, childhood development, and overall quality of life.” - Melanie Cohn
