Our teams had a blast turning the offices upside down recently in search of 3 hidden golden tickets, each worth a mystery prize! The rules were simple: no moving, stealing, or hiding tickets from each other...and most importantly, have fun!

Everyone at Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery works hard for our patients every day, so this was a fun way to show how much we appreciate all they do! We’re so thankful to have such a great group!

Can you remove a tooth and replace it with a dental implant in the same appointment? In some cases, yes.

This is known as immediate implant placement, and for the right patient, it can help streamline treatment by combining two steps into one appointment.

But it isn’t the right approach for everyone. Your oral surgeon will evaluate factors like the amount and quality of available bone, the presence of infection, your anatomy, and whether the implant can achieve the stability it needs at the time of placement.

Dr. Watson created the Next Level Implant Group for restorative dentists, surgeons, and dental laboratory professionals involved in implant care who want to strengthen their knowledge and treatment planning through evidence-based education and collaboration.

The group will meet again on September 24 for a session focused on Full-Arch Implant Rehabilitation, presented by Alex Novo of Great Impressions Dental Lab. The discussion will cover the full-arch workflow, including treatment planning, the definitive prosthesis, and the direct-to-multi-unit abutment approach.

Each session builds on the last, giving members the opportunity to learn together, discuss real cases, and bring those conversations back into clinical practice.
