CELEBRITY SCAMS & THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE VICTIMS CARRY.

Most people think celebrity scams only happen to gullible people, but victims often describe something very different. Many were lonely, grieving, isolated, or simply going through a difficult period in life when the messages started. The person pretending to be a celebrity knew exactly how to fill emotional gaps. They checked in every day, remembered details, gave attention, and created a feeling of being seen and valued. For some victims, that connection became part of their daily life. It stopped feeling like talking to a stranger online and started feeling like talking to someone who truly cared about them.

What makes these scams emotionally devastating is not just the money loss. It is the betrayal. Victims often describe the moment they realized the truth as emotionally crushing. Some say they could not sleep, could not eat, or replayed every conversation in their mind trying to understand how it happened. Many blame themselves harshly afterward. They feel embarrassed, humiliated, and afraid people will mock them instead of understanding what they went through emotionally. Some even continue talking to the scammer after doubts appear because letting go feels like losing a real relationship.

A lot of victims stay silent because they think nobody will understand the emotional side of it. Friends and family sometimes focus only on the money and miss the deeper damage underneath. But these scams are built around emotional manipulation, trust, attention, and psychological control. Victims are not just grieving lost money. Many are grieving what they believed was a real connection. That is why recovery can take time emotionally, even after the scam ends. Speaking openly, seeking support, and being treated with compassion instead of judgment can make a huge difference in helping victims heal.

Here is a tier 12 scammer. I’ve passed through all of the Pedro Pascals, the Todd Rundgren, the Jodie Fister, the Joni Mitchell, many Tom Kiefer s, single misogynists with dogs, the scammer handymen and now I’m on to the Turkish princes. Isn’t this fun? I’ve run the whole gamut. When I was originally scammed almost a year ago out of a small amount of money, I went to my bank and froze all my accounts. I stopped my credit cards, changed my email address and my WiFi provider, bought identity theft protection and got several new routers (none of them worked). My banker had told me to be very careful because as soon as you are scammed, they sell your name to a network and everyone takes a run at you. I wish I had the computer acumen to catch these guys. Romance scammers are easy to spot. They love bomb you and call you “my love” and “dear.” I even called Facebook and the number that was listed tried to extort me out of the contents of my bank account. Be suspicious of anyone on social media or any handyman you might encounter. There are scammers everywhere.

This is the hallmark of a scam. Scammers are narcissists. They can’t take accountability for their actions. They would rather run and hide. They will smear your name instead of looking at themselves and admitting they have faults too.

Here is yet another scammer. I got rid of him quickly because he was kind of boring. Notice the poor grammar? The love bombing? The blank space where he just filled in my name? Scammers are getting really lazy lately, aren’t they?

Here is scammer number 1074. He was pretty boring and disjointed so I cut him off quickly after reporting the conversation dozens of times. I’m just doing this as a warning. There are scammers everywhere.
