Your girl loves a career day! Thank you PS 32 for having me at your Women’s HERstory Month Career Day. I had a blast talking w Kindergarten and Third grade about speech and feeding therapy, working in a hospital, owning my own business and being a working Mom!

Reviews like this make the long days, hours of continuing education, and small business owner woes worth it! I’m so lucky to have clients like this individual. He has used myofunctional therapy plus traditional coarticulation therapy to significantly improve a persistently distorted /r/ sound. He’s worked hard and it shows!

Following up! As February came to a close, I was happy to donate a percentage of my earnings to the National Immigrant Justice Center. I chose this nonprofit because they provide direct legal representation to those families in crisis. My donation was made in honor of my Mom who just retired from a long legal career, much of which was spent helping women and people with disabilities. In recent years, she dedicated her time to constitutional law and fighting the many injustices we’ve faced as a country. I’m so proud of her and grateful for my clients’ continued support, as without them, I wouldn’t be in a place to make this donation.

I personally feel so overwhelmed by the news at times and want to just bury my head in the sand at all of the terrible stories. It doesn’t feel like enough but I’m trying to step out of that mindset when and where I can. We have been donating clothes to OASIS Women and Children’s Center in Paterson and organizing donations for those who’d lost their SNAP benefits. When my family can, we’re trying to help. When your client decides the old logo is tired, you turn creating a new logo into a social skills assignment! My client was asked to put information he knew about me (my choose) and my photo (his choice) into ChatGPT to create a new logo that really encapsulates me and my practice! I think he nailed it! 😂

Nothing like ending a week with an absolute BREAKTHROUGH Friday night dinner session!

Zach tried ⭐️ five ⭐️ new foods tonight! Sometimes progress happens bit by bit, but other times all at once following many sessions of play and rapport/trust building.

So happy for this kiddo and his amazing parents!

Like many of you- my heart is heavy as I process the news of the past few weeks. It’s a hard time to be an American and not recognize my country. It’s a hard time to be a parent, filled with worry about how I’ll explain this period of time to my children in the future. I empathize with families that don’t share my privilege and wish I could do more to help. I was inspired by .theslp ‘s pledge to donate to non-profits supporting immigrants and families. For the month of February, I’ll be donating a percentage of my Chatter and Chew income to a non profit that provides legal assistance to separated families. I’ll share more when I choose an organization and make the donation. It’s not much, but I feel compelled to do what I can and to make it clear where I stand.
