Unfortunately, in this day and age, most of us either know someone negatively impacted by drugs, alcohol, and/or mental illness and/or have been effected ourselves. Through this shared understanding, we also recognize that the pain and turmoil generated by the turbulence of substance abuse/mental illness can be all-consuming, if not life changing.
