Spy some of peeps celebrating Birth Center Week with our gear from Birth Center Equity (BCE)! We believe birth centers are public health. Midwifery care is public health. Midwives and birth centers make a difference in the communities they serve.

We welcomed a beautiful September baby this past week! A quick birth, and on top of that, he was very polite to midwife Lara, coming just after lunch time. Mama and baby are resting and doing well 🩵

Brytni had out of hospital births for her other pregnancies, but for this one, things felt different— after a lot of reflection and prayer, she chose to birth in the hospital, knowing it was the right decision for her. She welcomed a beautiful baby boy this month, and everything went well! When midwife Lara came for a postpartum visit, Brytni reflected on her experience, saying: “This time around, I have been abundantly grateful for the ways in which midwives show up for us birthing mothers not only as medical providers, but as bonus mothers, sisters, aunties, and friends.”

The 6 week postpartum visit is so bittersweet! Salisha came in for her last postpartum with baby Kiehren. It’s so wonderful to see how much our mamas and their babies grow between birth and the last postpartum. It’s not goodbye forever, though. We can still see our clients for annual wellness visits, primary care, and everything in between 🩵
