Reynolds Memorial Hospital

Reynolds Memorial Hospital Providing quality care close to home. Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, acute-care community hospital located in Glen Dale, WV.

We are governed by a 25-member volunteer board of directors and licensed for 90-beds and a 20-bed Skilled Nursing Unit. The hospital began as God’s Providence Home, an old farmhouse converted to an infirmary by B.M. Spurr, Archdeacon of the WV Episcopal Diocese. In 1899, Archdeacon Spurr founded the hospital through funding provided by Emily Van Buren Reynolds, daughter of U.S. President Martin Va

n Buren, in memory of her husband and sons. The current facility was constructed in 1963. Expansion and modernization continue with the most recent addition of a new women’s health center. Few elements of a community can impact the quality of life like practical, accessible health care. At Reynolds Memorial Hospital, our mission is to provide quality care to patients and the community at a reasonable cost. We are proud of our reputation for compassion and sincere concern. Through shared values and a creative approach to improving service, the professional staff at Reynolds Memorial Hospital have demonstrated this commitment: to remain focused on our tradition of caring and to assure the quality service as health care evolves. Reynolds Memorial Hospital is licensed by the WV State Health Department and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital is a member of the Voluntary Hospital Association, Inc., the American Hospital Association and the WV Hospital Association. We have a medical and dental staff of more than 100 practitioners. We provide a full range of medical services to meet the needs of our community that include general medical and surgical care, cardiac and other intensive care, home health and skilled nursing care.

We’re always thankful for our friends at Moundsville Pharmacy bringing donuts to our teams!

🍩 Donut Wednesday 🍩

The donut shenanigans continue! If you’re new here, here’s how it works: Each week, we deliver donuts to a local business or organization, and they get to choose who we surprise next. It’s a simple way to spread a little appreciation throughout our community.

Last week, the WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital OR Team made the call and sent us to the WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital Orthopedic Department 🦴🏥

Whether they're helping patients get back on their feet, back to work, or back to doing the things they love, this team plays an important role in keeping our community moving. We were happy to stop by with this week's donut delivery.

🍩 Do-nut worry… we're still making our rounds every week. If your workplace hasn't been picked yet, maybe it's time to start dropping some hints 👀

👇 So tell us…
Who wants to be next?

We're now in our second week of Safety Town at RMH! Participants are continuing to learn important life skills, including fire safety, water safety, and poison prevention.

A special thank you to the Glen Dale Fire Department and Marshall County EMS for providing fire and medical safety lessons this week. The RMH Emergency Services and Trauma teams also shared important water safety tips and information to help children stay safe around pools, lakes, and other waterways.

We are also incredibly grateful to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office for their presence throughout Safety Town and for helping keep all of our Safety Town kiddos safe. Their support and commitment to our community make this program even more special.

As we wrap up the week, we're looking forward to a visit from the Marshall County Animal Shelter tomorrow and our graduation ceremony on Friday!

Thank you to all of our community partners for helping make Safety Town such a fun, educational, and safe experience for our participants.

We've had a great first week of RMH Safety Town! Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, children are building confidence and learning important safety skills, including pedestrian and traffic safety, bicycle safety, stranger awareness, and how to recognize and respond to potentially unsafe situations.

Today, students had the opportunity to meet with members of the WV State Police, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Glen Dale Police Department, McMechen Police Department, Moundsville Police Department, and Cameron Police Department. The officers brought several vehicles for the children to explore, along with a rescue boat, a drone used for search-and-rescue operations, and a K-9 officer. Students enjoyed learning about the many ways law enforcement helps protect our communities while getting a firsthand look at some of the specialized equipment officers use in their work.

We are grateful to all of our community partners who help make Safety Town such a valuable learning experience for our students.

WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital was proud to sponsor this year’s Marshall County Relay For Life, supporting a cause that brings hope, strength, and resources to individuals and families affected by cancer.

Relay For Life represents more than a fundraiser—it is a celebration of survivors, a tribute to loved ones lost, and a powerful reminder of the resilience of those facing a diagnosis no one ever expects or wants to receive. We are honored to stand alongside our community in supporting the fight against cancer and helping advance research, education, and patient support services.

Thank you to the organizers, participants, survivors, caregivers, and volunteers who made this year’s event such a meaningful success. WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital remains committed to supporting the health and well-being of the communities we serve, and we are proud to be part of events that make a lasting difference.
