Excess Healthcare Expenditures Attributable To P*P Turnover, Burnout-Related Turnover, Study Suggests
HealthDay (3/4) reported “turnover of primary care physicians (P*Ps) is costly, resulting in about $979 million in excess health care expenditures per year, and a considerable proportion of this spending is attributable to P*P burnout-related turnover, according to a study.” Investigators “found that for public and private payers, P*P turnover resulted in about $979 million in excess health care expenditures each year,” and “P*P burnout-related turnover accounted for $260 million.” The results were published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings.
