Timothy Wayne Brooks, 69 of Glouster passed away Thursday June 4, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus surrounded by his family. He is the son of Carole Dodd Brooks and the late Francis Brooks. He formerly drove for Pepsi and Hogan Trucking in Zanesville and later retired from USF Holland Trucking in Columbus. He was a member of the Teamsters Union in Columbus, Jacksonville Eagles Aerie #1034 and the Jacksonville V.F.W. Tim was known for his sense of humor and his annual 4th of July parties and having a good time with his friends and family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karri Brooks; two children, Jason (Tricia) Carano and Nikki (Nick) Jerger; five grandchildren, Logan (Kevin) Thurman, Dylan (Skylar) Carano, Corbin Stalder, Aubrey Keys, and Layla Jerger; a brother, Joe (Sharon) Brooks; three nieces; several great nieces and great nephews; and his beloved dog, Laynie.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Balawender.
A cremation has taken place. The family will hold a celebration of life at the Brooks annual 4th of July party at the Brooks residence. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. Mark J. Robson, 70, of Chauncey, passed away on June 1, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1955, in Nelsonville. Mark retired from the Mitchell AEP Power Plant in Moundsville, West Virginia. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Mark formerly raced off-road enduros and enjoyed collecting vintage motorcycles.
He is survived by his common law wife, Kim Miller; a stepson, Jacob (Heather) Young; a stepdaughter, Amanda Miller; special friends, Tim (Christine) Newman, Frank Schoonover, and Dan Moyer; and his beloved cats.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phryne Kempton; his father, Donald F. Robson Sr.; and a brother, Robbie Robson.

James D. Lenigar, 68 of Nelsonville passed away Friday May 22, 2026 at his residence. Born June 20, 1957 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Walter T. and Delma A. Wright Lenigar.
James loved everyone. He was the type of person that would not only give you the shirt off his back, but also the teeth from his mouth.
He retired from the Glouster Water and Electric Department and was a member of Shepard’s Chapel Church. James was known as a jack of all trades with a strong mechanical ability, and he especially enjoyed working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Jacki L. Conley of Nelsonville; daughters, Jamie (Daniel) Decore of Glouster, Sherry (Shannon) McKee of Columbus, Tiffany (Restry) Kilkenny of Nelsonville, Vanessa (Christopher) Torres of Grove City, Jessica (Doug) Nelson of Glouster, and Alicia (James) Molihan of Buchtel; a son, Larry (Brittany) Collins of The Plains; grandchildren, Danielle, Kaylalee, Shannon Marie, Haylee, Chelsie, Gabby, Nathaniel, Brandon, Paizley, Levi, Rayden, Re*****on, Ryder, Presley, Peyton, Ashlynn, James, Samuel, Vivian, Broc, Bradley, Kaylyn, and Natalie; 11 great grandchildren and one on the way, Jace; three brothers and two sisters; his sister wife, Tiny; and a special friend Andrew.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Olivia May; and two brothers.

Judith Marlene Murphy, 81 of Glouster passed away Wednesday May 20, 2026, at her residence. Born August 16, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Margaret Lois Phillips Glass. Judy enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds.
She is survived by sons, William H. (Theresa) Murphy III, Marvin Murphy, and Mike (Tracy Prater) Murphy; grandchildren, William Kyle Murphy, Kelsey (Corey) Morgan, and Kasey (Jade) Murphy; great grandchildren, Clayton, Presley, Quinton, Zane, Charlee, and Sebastian; four brothers; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Murphy Jr.; three brothers; and three sisters.

David Michael Richards, 78 of Glouster passed away Monday May 18, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness. Born September 24, 1947, in Glouster, he was the son of the late Norman and Gladys Sikorski Richards.

He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed by Carborundum in Logan and by Trimble Local Schools. Dave was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Glouster Moose, and American Legion Post #414. He enjoyed sharing breakfast at Home Plate and lunch at Dairy Queen with many of his good friends. He also loved attending sporting events to support area athletes. He spent many years training and racing quarter horses and thoroughbreds with his family. He also coached football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, and softball, from little league through varsity. He actually coached three generations of football to one family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Haskins Richards; two sons, Stanley and Rusty (Heidi); three grandsons, Ryan (Tianna), Bryce (Brianna), and Reiston; bonus grandson, Gavin Richards; a great grandson, Zaiden; three bonus sons, Dennis Orsborne, Brian Orsborne, and Ray Lent; brothers, Paul (Barbara), Stanley, Phillip “Tom” (Vickie), Charles (Ann), Stephen “Al” (Leeann); sisters, Joanna, Marilyn, and Mary “Memi”; sister-in-law, Sara “Linda” Richards; and many loving relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents; a brother, Leo; sisters, Rita and Josephine “Foo”; a granddaughter, Raylinn Richards; and many other relatives and friends.

Ricky “Rick” Neil Bond, age 67, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away on May 17, 2026, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family.

Rick was born on February 26, 1959, in Nelsonville, Ohio. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence made an impact everywhere he went. He shared a life full of love, laughter, and friendship.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Bond; his children, Michael Bond, Angie Bond, Missy Bond and Matthew Williams; and his grandson, Lane Bond. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Edna Swyers, along with many close family members and lifelong friends who became family over the years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Slisher; his brother, Jeff Dolman; and his father-in-law, Warren “Herk” Swyers.

Rick was a retired member of the Action Sports Superstaff and a proud member of the FastTraxx Racing Family. Racing was a lifelong passion that he loved sharing with the people closest to him. He was also a retired captain and lifetime member of the York Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of O’Bleness Hospital Emergency Room, the 3rd Floor nursing staff, and the hospice nurses for the exceptional compassion and care shown to Rick and his family during such a difficult time. Special thanks are also extended to Carol Wells for standing beside the family, and to the York Township Volunteer Fire Department for the honors shown in recognition of Rick’s service and dedication.

Rick leaves behind a life filled with love, memories, and deep connections that will continue to live on through all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Judy (Sparks) (Coe) Brown, AKA “Granny”, 97 of Bishopville, passed away on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at her residence. She was born on August 19, 1928, to the late Albert “Red” and Fannie Mount Sparks. She was employed by Yorde Machine Company, Sylvania and Goodyear, and also was an aid for the Nelsonville York City Schools. Judy lived on Burr Oak where she enjoyed pontooning, fishing, camping, and having a beer around numerous family campfires.
Granny is survived by a daughter Penny Savage of Circleville; two sons J.R. (Kelly) Coe of Louisiana and Richard Coe of Bishopville. She had a special affection for her seven grandchildren, Sam (Deidra) Savage, J.P. (Seak) Pancake, Michele Holbert, Mistie Pancake, R.C. (Jessica) Coe, Jack Coe, and Reese Coe; her great grandchildren Britney Savage, Cassie (Austin) Kasler, Emily (Wyatt) Denny, Sammy Savage, Jonathan Holbert, Mason Savage, Tanner Holbert, Andi Coe, Jaxson Coe, Kennedy Coe, Wyatt Coe, Conner Coe, Kenzie Glenn, and Kaylie Wallace; great-great grandchildren Paisley Hammond, Weston Kasler and Gentry Denny; and a son-in-law Thomas Gumpf of Buchtel.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Brown and a daughter Billie Gumpf.

Romona “Mona” Taylor, 62, of Glouster, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born June 19, 1963, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late James and Thelma Marshall Congrove. Romona was a caring person who opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay. Over the years, she helped raise many children. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals.
She is survived by children, Jonah Taylor, Brittany Pryor, and William Sprouse; a granddaughter, Willow Taylor; a brother, Kenny Congrove; and a sister, Starr Hopkins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Congrove.

Nancy Y. Russell, 72 of Logan passed away Friday May 1, 2026, at the Embassy of Logan. She was born on January 15, 1954, in Nelsonville. Nancy enjoyed working in her flower beds, crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her husband, Donald F. “Butch” Russell Jr. of Logan; her mother, Norma Jean Fouty of Doanville; a son, Donald F. (Amy) Russell III of Logan; a daughter, Francie (Jason) Holt of Oregon; grandchildren, Liberty Marie, Justice Asher and Legend Uriah; a great grandchild, Roslyn Honor; sisters, Penny Reynolds, Brenda Gillespie, Amy Lang, Joni Bateman, Bette Nell Russell, Samantha Ballinger, Missy Florke, and Becky Freer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fouty; a granddaughter, Honor; and a brother, Dick Fouty.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday May 28, 2026, at the Taylor Ridge Church of Christ. Family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Danny W. Swart, 74 of Jacksonville passed away Friday May 1, 2026 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens. Born June 2, 1951 in Athens he was the son of the late Virgil and Pauline Higgins Swart. He worked for 15 years at Lawhead Press. After the company closed, he began a career in banking working at both the Corning Bank and First National Bank. He later retired from Lowe’s in Athens. Following his retirement, he enjoyed cruising and traveling to various countries. He was an avid fan of the Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a member of the Trimble Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. #557.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily Chalfant Swart; a son, Kyle (Christine) Swart; brothers, Steve and Rob Swart; special nephew, David (Carol) Brown; sisters-in-law, Grace Ann Swart, Judy Kittle and Dixie Blower; brothers-in-law, Ernie Chalfant and Jerry Brown; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Charles Campbell; a special friend since seventh grade, Janalee Brunton, who as kids would sit on her steps together eating dog bones.
Dan was a good friend to all. He loved his dogs, Bella, who is now deceased, Sadie and Stryker. He enjoyed taking his dogs on daily walks and every night he made sure to tell each one of them goodnight individually.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Kay (Eric) Green and Dianne (Lynn) Flake; brothers, Rolland and Richard (Pat) Swart; a niece, Lisa Flake; brothers-in-law, Terry Chalfant and David Brown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Florence and Ernest Chalfant; and his grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday May 6, 2026 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. There will be a Masonic Service held at 7:30 p.m. A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
