Chiropractic adjustments help your nervous system adapt the way it's designed to function.

People often tell Dr. Lisa they leave feeling lighter, calmer, and better able to roll with whatever the week hands them. Everybody jokes about needing an attitude adjustment, and there's something to it.

Your body came with everything it needs to heal. It always has.

Think about the last cut you got. You washed it, covered it, forgot about it, and a week later it was gone. Nobody told your body how to do that.

That power travels from your brain down through your spine and out along your nerves to every part of you. When a bone in the spine crowds that path, the signal has a harder time getting where it's going.

An adjustment clears the line so your brain and your body can talk again, and your body gets back to doing what it already knows how to do.

Dr. Lisa has been helping Gloversville families turn that power back on for years. Call (518) 725-9355 or visit awfchiro.com.

There's a reason chiropractors spend years learning one thing: the adjustment!

When you twist your own neck until it cracks, you're moving whatever gives first (usually the joint that already moves too much).

The stiff spot that's actually causing the trouble usually stays right where it is. So the tension creeps back, you twist again, and the cycle keeps going.

A chiropractor spends years learning to identify what needs to move, as well as the line of drive, force, and speed needed.

Hundreds of hours in anatomy, then thousands more practicing the adjustment itself, all to find the exact spot that is restricted and creating nerve pressure and interference.

It's the difference between forcing a stuck door and knowing which hinge to work on.

Dr. Lisa checks where your nervous system is getting interference and clears that one path, so your body can function the way it's meant to.

Your neck is worth more than a quick crack. Come let a trained set of hands take a look. Call (518) 725-9355 or visit awfchiro.com.

Anyone who keeps a garden up here knows the answer is usually under the dirt. 🌱

Families bring us headaches, poor sleep, back pain, low energy, or a colicky baby. Those symptoms are all leaves. Your nervous system is the root underneath them.

🧠 Your brain sends every instruction down through your spine and out along your nerves. When a bone in the spine crowds that path, the message arrives fuzzy and your body speaks up however it can.

Dr. Lisa starts underground with a full evaluation, because the place you feel something and the place it grows from are often two different spots.

If your family has been trimming the same leaves season after season, call (518) 725-9355 or visit awfchiro.com.

Sleep is not the reward for a productive day. It is part of the work.

Every repair process your body runs happens during sleep. Muscle recovery, immune function, hormone regulation, memory consolidation, and cellular repair all require you to be unconscious and still for a significant chunk of every single night. You cannot hack your way around it.

Here is how much sleep different ages actually need:
Newborns: 14 to 17 hours
Toddlers: 11 to 14 hours
School age children: 9 to 11 hours
Teenagers: 8 to 10 hours
Adults: 7 to 9 hours
Older adults: 7 to 8 hours

Women, your need for sleep is real, and it is biological! Hormonal cycles, brain complexity, and the demands of multitasking all require more overnight recovery time. Research suggests women need an average of 20 to 30 minutes more sleep per night than men.

Healing happens during sleep.

If you are getting adjusted, eating well, exercising, and taking your supplements but skimping on sleep, you are leaving most of the results on the table.

Your body uses every good decision you made that day and cashes it in overnight. Without enough sleep, those investments don't pay out the way they should.

Chiropractic care supports deeper, more restorative sleep by keeping your nervous system clear and your body out of stress mode. But we need you to show up for the other eight hours too.

Save this and share it with the person in your life who brags about only needing five hours.

Poor sleep is rarely just one thing! It's usually a few things stacking on top of each other until rest feels impossible.

Stress is one of the biggest culprits. When your nervous system is locked in fight-or-flight mode, falling asleep feels like trying to stop a moving train.

Your environment matters too. A room that's too warm, too bright, or too loud sends your brain the signal to stay alert even when your body is exhausted.

But one of the most overlooked obstacles is spinal interference. Your nervous system controls your sleep cycles, your ability to wind down, your heart rate, your breathing, all of it.

When a misalignment puts pressure on that system, the signals between your brain and body get disrupted in ways you feel but can't always explain. Waking at 3am. Lying there unable to switch off. Never feeling fully rested no matter how many hours you log.

Chiropractic adjustments remove that interference so your nervous system can regulate the way it's supposed to. If any of these feel familiar, your body is asking for something. Let's find out what.

Most people think poor sleep is a bedroom problem: a bad mattress, too much screen time, too much coffee. And those things matter. But the deeper conversation is about your nervous system and which mode it is actually running in when your head hits the pillow.

Your autonomic nervous system has two branches. The sympathetic branch is your fight-or-flight system. It is brilliant in a real emergency. But it was never designed to run all day every day, which is exactly what chronic stress asks it to do.

The parasympathetic branch is the opposite. Rest-and-digest. This is where your heart rate slows, your muscles let go, your digestion activates, and your brain drops into the deeper stages of sleep where real recovery happens.

Your spine can directly influence which branch is dominant.

Misalignments, particularly in the upper neck, can keep your nervous system in a low-grade stressed state around the clock. Your body is braced. Your brain is alert. And no matter how tired you are, deep rest stays just out of reach.

Chiropractic adjustments work directly on that system. By removing interference from the spine, they help your nervous system shift toward parasympathetic dominance.

Patients often report feeling calmer, that they fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer and wake up more refreshed!

Save this and share it with someone who is exhausted but can't figure out why.

Yup, we can do that. Your nervous system is supposed to help you self-regulate.

That means shifting from alert to calm, from awake to asleep, from go to rest. When it does that well, you fall asleep when your head hits the pillow, and you stay there.

When something is interfering with those signals, you get the couch-to-bed wide-awake experience that makes you want to scream into the void.

Your brain communicates with your entire body through your spine. Heart rate, breathing, sleep cycles; all of it runs through that system.

Subluxations, which are areas of interference in the spine, can disrupt those signals in ways you feel but can't always explain. A chiropractic adjustment removes that interference and helps your nervous system find its way back to calm.

Getting checked is a great place to start. Tag someone who needs to read this.

Nervous system care is the one part of sleep hygiene that most people overlook.

However, your nervous system controls every part of your sleep cycle, from when you wind down to how deeply you rest to how restored you feel in the morning.

When the spine is clear of interference, that system works the way it was designed to. Regular chiropractic care supports your sleep from the inside out in a way no pillow or sleep app can replicate.

Which of these 5 tips do you already do? Which one will you try?
