☀️Summer skin starts this fall🍂

If smoother skin and a whole lot less shaving are on your wish list for next summer, now is the time to start IPL Permanent Hair Reduction.

Because hair grows in cycles, IPL hair reduction requires a series of treatments spaced over time. Starting this fall gives us time to work through those growth cycles before shorts, swimsuits & sunshine return.

For a limited time, I’m offering our Summer Ready Package:

✨ Underarms
✨ Brazilian
✨ Full Legs

6-Treatment Series
Regularly $4,350
Summer Ready Package: $3,480
Save $870 | 20% OFF

That’s six treatments for all three areas—giving you months to progressively reduce unwanted hair before next summer.

Less shaving. Less stubble. Smoother skin. ☀️

And you don’t have to pay for your entire package all at once! Buy Now, Pay Later options are available with Affirm, Afterpay & Klarna, making it easier to start your series now and spread payments out over time. *

Welcome to 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒛𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅

Week 1 • Day 3

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑲𝒏𝒆𝒘”

So far this week, we've talked about ~ what an esthetician is ~ and ~ why esthetics is a licensed profession ~

Today, let's answer another question I hear all the time...

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑫𝒐 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝑫𝒐?

Many people think our job begins and ends with a facial.

In reality, that's only a small part of what we do.

Long before we ever recommend a product or begin a treatment, we're evaluating your skin, reviewing your health history, identifying contraindications, considering medications and lifestyle factors, and determining which treatments are both ~safe~ and ~appropriate~ for you.

Professional estheticians don't simply perform treatments...

𝕎𝕖 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕔𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕝 𝕕𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪 𝕤𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕝𝕖 𝕕𝕒𝕪.

We're constantly asking questions like:

• What is causing this skin concern?

• Is this treatment appropriate for this client today?

• Could this ingredient make the condition worse?

• Is there a contraindication that makes this treatment unsafe?

• Should this client be referred to another healthcare professional?

• How can I create the safest and most effective treatment plan for this individual?

Every recommendation should have a purpose.

Every treatment should be customized.

Every client deserves individualized care NOT a one-size-fits-all routine copied from social media.

One of the most valuable parts of any appointment isn't the facial itself...

𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

Understanding ~why~ your skin is behaving the way it is allows us to create a treatment plan designed specifically for ~you~ not for the average person.

That's why professional skincare isn't about chasing trends.

It's about understanding skin biology, identifying the root cause of concerns, and choosing treatments that support long-term skin health.

Beyond our initial licensure, many estheticians choose to pursue hundreds—or even thousands—of additional hours of continuing education and advanced certifications.

Depending on state law and individual training, this may include specialized education in procedures such as:

• Chemical peels

• Microneedling

• Dermaplaning

• Laser and light-based treatments (IPL, laser hair reduction, skin rejuvenation, vascular and pigment correction)

• Radiofrequency skin tightening and RF microneedling

• Advanced acne management

• Oncology esthetics

• Manual lymphatic drainage

• Advanced facial massage techniques

• Lash lifts and brow laminations

• Permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing (where licensed)

• Advanced skin analysis and treatment planning

….and more!

We also learn how to select professional skincare that prepares the skin before advanced treatments, supports healing afterward, minimizes complications, and helps clients achieve the safest and best possible long-term results.

The best estheticians never stop learning ~ because the science of skin is always evolving, and our clients deserve care that evolves with it.

Over the next 52 weeks, we'll continue separating facts from myths, exploring the science behind healthy skin, and helping you make informed, confident decisions about your skincare.

After all, the best education begins with real questions from real people.

Because your skin deserves better than guesswork.

Welcome to 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒛𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅

This is Week 1 ~ Day 2 of my 52-week educational series, “𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑲𝒏𝒆𝒘.”

A couple days ago, we talked about what an esthetician is.

Today, let’s answer another important question…

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏?

If esthetics were simply about applying products or performing relaxing facials, licensure wouldn’t be necessary.

But professional esthetics is about much more than that.

Your skin is a living, functioning organ. Every treatment we perform has the potential to improve the health of the skin ~ or, if performed improperly, cause irritation, infection, pigmentation changes, scarring, or other complications.

That’s why state licensure exists.

Professional estheticians receive formal education in:

• Skin anatomy & physiology

• Ingredient science

• Skin conditions

• Sanitation & infection control

• Treatment protocols

• Contraindications

• Safe treatment practices

• Personalized treatment planning

…and so much more.

Licensure isn’t about creating barriers.

It’s about establishing professional standards that help protect the public and ensure treatments are guided by education, safety, and clinical judgment ~ not guesswork.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying skincare or sharing products you love.

But there is an important difference between personal experience and professional education.

One is based on opinion.

The other is built on science, training, and accountability.

Over the next 52 weeks, we’ll separate facts from myths, explore the science behind healthy skin, and help you make informed, confident decisions about your skincare.

Question of the Day

Welcome to 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒛𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅!

This is Week 1, Day 1 of my new 52-week educational series, “𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑲𝒏𝒆𝒘.”

For years, I’ve watched people spend hundreds ~ even thousands ~ of dollars on products, treatments, and trends that promised amazing results, yet never addressed what their skin actually needed.

The truth is, skincare has become big business that everyone seems to want a piece of. Which has made it incredibly confusing for most…

Every day we’re told to buy another serum, follow another trend, join another MLM or copy another influencer’s routine. Everyone seems to have an opinion about skincare ~ but not everyone has the education to support it.

Beautiful, healthy skin doesn’t start with products.

It starts with understanding.

That’s why I’m launching 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑲𝒏𝒆𝒘 ~ a year-long educational series designed to help you understand how your skin works, why common skin concerns develop, and how to make informed, confident decisions about your skincare.

So, let’s start at the very beginning with a simple question…

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏?

Many people think estheticians simply perform facials or recommend skincare products.

While those can certainly be part of what we do, professional esthetics is so much more than that.

An esthetician is a state-licensed skincare professional who specializes in the health, function, and appearance of the skin.

We receive formal education in:

• Skin anatomy & physiology

• Ingredient science

• Skin conditions

• Sanitation & infection control

• Treatment protocols

• Contraindications

• Safe treatment practices

• Personalized skincare planning

…and so much more

Our goal isn’t to sell products or chase the latest skincare trend ~ We could do that by skipping the investment in our education & just join the latest MLM.

Our goal is to understand YOUR skin, identify what it truly needs, and help you achieve healthier skin through sharing our knowledge, performing professional treatments, and curating personalized care.

Over the next 52 weeks, we’ll separate facts from myths, explore the science behind healthy skin, and give you the knowledge to make confident decisions about your skincare.

Whether you’ve been seeing an esthetician for years or you’re just beginning your skincare journey, I’m so glad you’re here. Because…

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬.

❓Question of the Day:

𝑩𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅?

And while you’re here…

What’s one skincare topic you’ve always wanted to understand better?

Leave your answer in the comments. Your question may become a future 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒛𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅 lesson.

After all, the best education begins with real questions from real people.

Please follow Sozo Restorative Integrative Aesthetics to continue to follow this series. Thank you!

SKINVESTMENT.

noun [skin-vest-ment]

To invest in your skin without regret because you’ll wear it for the rest of your life.

Your skin is the only outfit you’ll never take off.

It protects you, tells your story, reflects your health, and carries you through every season of life. Taking care of it isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about honoring the body you’ve been given.

Whether your goals are healthy aging, clearer skin, managing acne or rosacea, restoring your skin barrier, or simply taking an hour to breathe and recharge, investing in your skin is one of the few investments that stays with you every single day.

At Sozo Restorative, every treatment is thoughtfully customized because no two people—and no two journeys—are the same.

Your future skin is being shaped by the choices you make today.

Make it a SKINVESTMENT.
