As I drove to the airport to pick up my daughter, I couldn't help but make a quick pit stop at our local taqueria. After all, what loving dad wouldn't want to welcome his daughter home with a tasty treat? Or perhaps it was a strategic move to earn some favor for the next time I need a lift?
As I ordered her favorite burrito, I was taken aback by the price – what used to be $7.95 is now $11.50, a staggering 38% increase since my last visit a few years ago. While I understand the need for businesses to adjust prices, it was still a shock. Thankfully, Salvador, the owner, tossed in a complimentary bag of chips and salsa, which eased the blow.
As many of my friends know, after 38 years as a chiropractor, I semi-retired in 2020.
