Many people say that this is the best time of the year. We can get outside, enjoy the sunshine, the MN lakes, etc.

But summer can also be a time for loneliness, disrupted routines, family pressure (reunions, anyone), financial stress, or feeling as though everyone is having a better summer than you are.

Take a minute and recognize that there are things you can do in this hard time to reduce the anxiety and stress.

Good mental health care begins with seeing the whole person.

Culture and lived experiences often shape our mental health.

Therefore, it is important to find practitioners who are willing to customize your mental health care to you and your lived experiences. To listen without assumptions, and to ensure that all patients feel seen, heard, and understood.

That is what we are here to do.

As June comes to a close, our commitment to men's mental health shouldn't.

Men's Mental Health Month helps bring important conversations into focus, but the reality is that stress, isolation, burnout, anxiety, and the pressure to "push through" don't disappear when the calendar changes.

In our latest blog, "The Power of Mind and Body: Rethinking Men's Health," we explore the connection between mental and physical well-being and how challenging unhelpful beliefs can help men build healthier, more sustainable lives.

Supporting men's mental health means continuing to:

📍 Make space for honest conversations
📍 Recognize that vulnerability is not a weakness
📍 Encourage connection before a crisis occurs
📍 Treat mental health as an essential part of overall health

How will you help to spread support, compassion, and access to care all year long?

Men’s health often gets reduced to gym routines, protein shakes, and the occasional doctor visit. But true health runs deeper—it’s the interplay between physical vitality and mental resilience. In a world that still pressures men to “man up” and push through pain, silence, and burnout, it....

You can acknowledge what you’re struggling with without letting it define your entire story.

That might sound small, but it matters.

There’s a difference between:
“I’m going through a hard time”
and
“This is all I’ll ever be.”

Our newest Birch blog explores how separating identity from symptoms can create more room for hope, support, and healing:

As Memorial Day weekend begins, we are reminded how important connection, rest, and community can be.

Whether this weekend is full of family gatherings, quiet moments, outdoor time, or simply catching your breath after a busy season, we hope you are able to make space for what helps you feel grounded.

Wishing you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend from all of us at Birch.

Burnout does not always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like:
• Being tired all the time
• Feeling mentally checked out
• Snapping more easily
• Getting through the day, but barely having energy left afterward

A lot of people keep telling themselves to push through because they are still functioning.

But you do not have to wait until things completely fall apart to talk to someone.

Our walk-in counseling clinic is here for those moments when stress, burnout, or life just starts feeling heavier than usual.

Online mental health conversations have helped many people feel less alone.

But sometimes those conversations can also make it easy to feel defined by what you’re struggling with.

We are more than our hardest moments.
More than stress.
More than symptoms.

A recent Birch blog talks about the importance of separating who we are from what we may be experiencing:

There is space for support, healing, and growth without letting struggles become your entire identity. 💚
