Nutrition advice for MCAS, EDS, and POTS is often conflicting, restrictive, and overwhelming.

In this free one-hour webinar, Functional Nutritionist Cindi Lockhart will unpack the root causes that commonly trigger flares — including mast cell instability, autonomic dysfunction, gut permeability, microbiome imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar swings, stress physiology, and environmental exposures.

You’ll learn why many elimination diets and supplement protocols unintentionally worsen symptoms, how connective tissue and nervous system dysregulation affect digestion and absorption, and what foundational food and lifestyle strategies truly stabilize these complex conditions.

This evidence-informed session will provide practical, physiology-based guidance to reduce reactivity, improve resilience, and build a sustainable nutrition approach that supports long-term symptom management — without unnecessary restriction.

Your nervous system’s job is to keep you safe. It will do everything it can to help you survive moment to moment.

This is so helpful short term, but long term this can start to take a toll on your body.

Because the thing is, it really doesn’t care about how you feel long term, as long as you survive.

That’s why incorporating tools and strategies that bring you out of survival mode- even temporarily- are incredibly beneficial for improving symptoms.

Breathing, grounding, sunlight, routine… all of these are examples of supportive tools that help us find balance when faced with prolonged stress.

What are your go to practices for a healthy nervous system?

Pregnancy, birth and postpartum is often a scary time because it comes with so many unknowns, especially when you live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate.

Having evidence based guidance is a game changer. It helps us be better informed so that we can communicate our needs with other providers who may not be as familiar with HSD/hEDS, which allows us to get the care that is necessary to have a successful pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.

As a hypermobile human with POTS and MCAS who just had a successful pregnancy and birth, I wish I would’ve utilized these guidelines more proactively because it would’ve helped me avoid added stress during an already stressful season of life!

Thank you to and all the other authors for gifting us with these guidelines!

We don’t always think about pelvic floor therapy as a treatment for MCAS, but it can be a really important partner in your treatment plan!

MCAS can greatly affect the bowel (constipation and/or diarrhea anyone?), the bladder (painful peeing, trouble starting or difficulty emptying) and lead to pelvic pain conditions like endometriosis, painful menstrual cramping and vulvodynia.

The good news is that as pelvic floor therapists, we have a lot of tools that can help these conditions, even if they’re caused by unruly mast cells!

At Intrinsic, we’ll take a holistic approach so that we can help you get to the root of your issues and get you feeling better.

If you live with POTS and have started noticing pelvic pain, difficulty going to the bathroom and digestive issues, know that these can all be related to your POTS diagnosis.

Understanding this helps to treat your symptoms from a root cause standpoint, instead of treating everything separately, and can help you feel improvement faster!
