Pain is your body’s way of telling you something isn’t right.

Don’t ignore it.
Don’t get used to it.
And don’t accept pain as your “normal.”

Listen to your body. 🤍

🍎 HEY, SCHOOL STAFF — THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 🍎

You spend the school year taking care of everyone else.

Before the alarm clocks, early mornings, lesson plans, packed hallways, meetings, activities and a whole lot of “Can I ask you a question?” begin again… 😂

You’ve got one a little over a week.

Make a little of it about YOU. 🤍

Book the massage.
Unclench those shoulders.
Turn your brain off for an hour.
And head into the new school year feeling relaxed, recharged and ready.

Because the people who take care of our kids deserve to be taken care of, too. ❤️

✨ July is International Self-Care Month. ✨
Did you know there’s an entire month dedicated to self-care?
For so many of us, taking care of ourselves is the first thing to fall off the list.
We’re caring for our spouses. We’re raising children. We’re supporting aging parents. We’re serving our communities. We’re working hard. We’re carrying burdens no one else even knows about.
And somewhere along the way, we start to believe that taking time for ourselves is selfish.
It isn’t.
Self-care isn’t indulgence—it’s making sure your mind, body, and soul have what they need so you can keep showing up for the people you love… including yourself.
One of the greatest privileges of being a massage therapist is holding space for people. For 60 or 90 minutes, you don’t have to take care of anyone else. You don’t have to have all the answers.
You simply get to rest.
Whether you’re carrying physical pain, emotional exhaustion, or just need a quiet place to breathe—you are welcome here.
🤍 To honor International Self-Care Month, I’m inviting you to say “yes” to yourself.Book one self-care session during July and receive $10 off your massage.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to schedule the massage you’ve been putting off…
This is it.
You don’t have to earn rest. You already deserve it. 🤍

💭 DID YOU KNOW?

Your jaw muscles are some of the strongest muscles in your body for their size.

If you frequently experience:
✔️ Headaches
✔️ Jaw pain
✔️ Neck tension
✔️ Sore teeth when you wake up

…you may be clenching your jaw without even realizing it.

Massage can help relieve tension in the muscles of the jaw, neck, and shoulders, helping many people feel more comfortable.

Have you ever caught yourself clenching your jaw? 👇

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙

Today we celebrate the gift of freedom and remember those who have sacrificed so much to protect it.

As you gather with family and friends, I hope you also find a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and be thankful for the many blessings we often take for granted.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” — Galatians 5:13

Wishing you a safe, joyful, and restful Fourth of July!

— Janell

For the past three weeks, I had the incredible privilege of spending one day each week at Camp Rainbow Gold, offering two hours of massages to the amazing volunteers who make camp possible.

When most people think about Camp Rainbow Gold, they picture the children laughing, making memories, and simply getting to be kids. What they may not see are the volunteers behind the scenes—the people who give their time, energy, and hearts to create that experience for children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

Over those three weeks, I had the opportunity to care for the caregivers. Every volunteer who I met carried a different story, but they all shared one thing in common: a servant’s heart.

It was a reminder that healing isn’t always found in a hospital. Sometimes it’s found in laughter echoing through camp, in friendships built around a campfire, in the encouragement of a volunteer, or in twenty quiet minutes where someone who has been pouring into others gets the chance to simply breathe.

Thank you, Camp Rainbow Gold, for allowing me to be a small part of something so meaningful. It was truly an honor to support the volunteers who make such an extraordinary difference in the lives of these children and their families.

My hands may have eased some tired muscles, but my heart left fuller than when I arrived. ❤️

Camp Rainbow Gold, which aims to support children with cancer and their families, is calling for more summer volunteers.

Myth #5: “Massage releases toxins.”

Truth: Your body already has built-in systems for filtering and removing waste — primarily the liver, kidneys, and lymphatic system.

Massage does not “squeeze toxins out,” but it can support circulation, lymphatic movement, relaxation, and recovery. Some people may feel tired, thirsty, or sore afterward simply because the body has relaxed and tissues have been worked.

Educational > fear-based wellness language. Always. 🤍

Myth #4: “You shouldn’t get a massage if you’re sore.”

Truth: In many cases, massage can actually help reduce soreness and improve recovery.

Appropriate techniques may help increase circulation, decrease muscle tension, and support recovery after workouts or physical stress. The key is using the right approach for what your body needs that day.

Myth #3: “More pressure always means a better massage.”

Truth: More pressure is not always more effective.

The right pressure depends on the person, the condition being treated, and how the body responds. Sometimes lighter, intentional work creates better results than aggressive pressure.

Therapeutic massage should feel productive — not punishing.
