The Maine Chatterbox had a blast attending the Maine Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities (MADSEC) conference this week! It was great to chat with many administrators from Child Development Services as well as public school administrators as we continue to network! Looking forward to continued collaboration as we serve our amazing families!!

The Maine Chatterbox has more exciting news! We are excited to announce that Bloom Pediatric Therapy is now subleasing one of our therapy rooms here at the clinic! Bloom offers Occupational Therapy Services to the pediatric population and they are currently contracted with CDS and Mainecare. We are excited to be able to collaborate with this team of OT's and offer additional Therapy Services right here in our clinic!

We are settled in at 94 Main Street and our signs are up now, so we are more official 😀
We LOVE our new location and continue to search for another speech therapist to join our team 😀 ❤️ so thankful to have such a wonderful team of clinicians and amazing families that made the transition seamless!

Hey all! It's been a crazy couple of weeks but we have made the move to a bigger space (with more parking)! We are now located at 94 Main street in Gorham (Unit 22). We have 5 therapy rooms, which means we can service even more families (as soon as we can hire)! We are loving our centralized location in the heart of Gorham! We are still a bit "under construction" - awaiting new carpets, but we are up and running! The Chatterbox team is so excited to see everyone in the new space ❤️

Think Spring! We are slightly obsessed with this new sensory bin from Play-bility! Lots of speech and language opportunities arise with this type of activity and we have SO much fun while we "work"!

Today at The Maine Chatterbox, one of our clients was able to get a Modified Barium Swallow Study right in our parking lot!!! Speech Language Pathologist, Kate Corrigall (who specializes in feeding and swallowing disorders) was able to meet her client right outside our office and was able to attend the swallow study! The service was provided by MassTex Imaging, LLC - they have mobile vans that are able to come to us! What an amazing service we can offer to our families!

***A Modified Barium Swallow Study helps determine why an individual is having difficulty swallowing, allows clinicians to make informed decisions about what diet consistency can be tolerated, and can help determine what strategies might help to create optimal swallow function.

We still have some clinic openings available if you or someone you know has any speech therapy needs! We are also continuing to offer teletherapy services for those who prefer to stay home!

We are grateful to be part of this amazing community and look forward to providing individualized services to those in need.

The Maine Chatterbox, LLC is moving!! Don't worry, we aren't going far! Our new location is 358 Main Street in Gorham. We are excited to have a bigger space and we will be welcoming some new therapists to the team in the next few weeks (stay tuned for introductions)!!! We will have a number of openings for the Fall. We are offering teletherapy and in person visits depending on your preference. Please reach out if you have any speech therapy needs :) We are so excited to show you our new space!

33 Elmwood Restaurant in Westbrook continues to donate delicious meals to 4 families a week who have a child with autism or autistic adult (4 person meal) at no cost throughout June. The menu this week is: 2 Pizzas (cheese or pepperoni) & house salad. The pizzas will be baked just enough to be re- heated. You will need to be picked up.

Day/time of meal pick-up: Wednesday to Saturday, 4:00 to 7:00pm. Please call the Autism Society of Maine at 1-800-273-5200 to get on the list for this wonderful offer! (Make your request by phone, no facebook messages or emails as we need to get and give information.)
