Attention friends who live or work with children:

Communication Station NY hosts on app based book club called “The Reflective Reader”. It's hosted on an app called Fable. We select a book to read together and have questions to lead discussion on the app. Participants will receive certificates at the end for Professional Development hours for participating in the chats for each chapter.
See the attached flyer for more information. Our second book will be "Upward Bound" by Woody Browb and we will start on September 14th. You are responsible for purchasing or borrowing your own book.

July is Disability Pride Month! Disability Pride Month is an annual observance in July that celebrates people with disabilities, commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and promotes disability culture and visibility.

Observed every July, Disability Pride Month recognizes the importance of the ADA, which was signed into law on July 26, 1990. It highlights disability culture, history, and community pride. This month challenges the harmful idea that people with disabilities need to conform to norms to live meaningful lives. Their lives are just as full, valuable, and worthy of respect—no more, no less.

This is a great water safety tip for those who are going to swim this summer! 🩱 🩳

This is a great safety guide for children swimming in lakes and swimming pools. The color of the bathing suit can make it easier or more difficult to see children while they are swimming. This is a good reminder to always have adult supervision when children are swimming. (Thanks to Praire Lakes Healthcare System.)
