It’s fitting that Jules Verne, father of science fiction, would have a dark, otherworldly gravestone. Two years after his death, a sculpture was erected atop his marker. Designed by sculptor Albert Roze, and using the actual death mask of the writer, the statue depicts the shrouded figure of Jules Verne breaking his own tombstone and emerging from the grave.

Dignity Memorial is proud to stand alongside the dedicated professionals of the **Florida Emergency Mortuary Operations Response System (FEMORS)**.

FEMORS brings together trained volunteers from across Florida who are prepared to respond when communities face mass-fatality incidents and other emergencies. Their work requires compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and a willingness to serve when families and communities need support most.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support this important mission and proud of the Dignity Memorial associates who give their time, knowledge, and experience to FEMORS.

When a family is affected by a violent crime, the emotional impact can be overwhelming—and unexpected expenses can make an already difficult time even harder.

The State of Florida’s **Victim Compensation Program** may provide financial assistance to eligible crime victims and their families for certain crime-related expenses, including:

• Funeral and burial expenses
• Grief counseling
• Loss of support
• Medical and mental health care
• Wage loss
• Crime scene cleanup
• Other qualifying expenses

Eligibility requirements, filing deadlines and documentation requirements apply, and benefits are not guaranteed.

If your family has experienced a loss connected to a crime, consider speaking with a victim advocate, law enforcement agency or the Florida Attorney General’s Bureau of Victim Compensation.
